Echodyne is seeking a Facilities Manager to join our fast-growing team.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the leadership, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Echodyne's facilities portfolio. This role oversees building infrastructure, maintenance, engineering, capital projects, workplace services, and Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations supporting manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, and office environments.

The Facilities Manager leads day-to-day facilities operations, develops maintenance and capital improvement plans, manages facilities staff and contractors, and partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, IT, Security, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to support business growth and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Facilities Leadership

• Develop and implement facilities plans that support manufacturing growth and operational excellence.

• Lead facilities engineering, maintenance, workplace operations, infrastructure, and capital improvement activities.

• Establish and maintain facilities standards, procedures, budgets, and performance metrics.

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the facilities team.

• Support major facilities initiatives and infrastructure investments.

Facilities Engineering & Operations

• Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, compressed air, backup power, mechanical systems, and other critical infrastructure.

• Ensure high availability and reliability of building systems supporting manufacturing and engineering operations.

• Develop preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.

• Drive operational efficiency, sustainability, and energy optimization initiatives.

Building Management Systems (BMS)

• Oversee the company's Building Management System (BMS) and building automation infrastructure.

• Establish standards for BMS architecture, controls, cybersecurity, data integrity, and system performance.

• Lead BMS implementation, upgrades, integrations, and lifecycle management across facilities.

• Leverage BMS analytics and automation to improve energy efficiency, equipment reliability, and occupant comfort.

• Partner with IT to ensure secure integration of building automation systems with enterprise infrastructure.

Capital Projects & Construction

• Manage planning and execution of capital improvement projects, facility expansions, renovations, and construction activities.

• Develop annual and multi-year capital improvement plans aligned with business objectives.

• Oversee project budgets, schedules, commissioning, contractor performance, and risk management.

• Ensure projects meet quality, regulatory, safety, and operational requirements.

Compliance, Risk & Safety

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, fire and life safety codes, and applicable building codes.

• Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to maintain a safe working environment and support emergency preparedness.

• Lead facility risk assessments, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery for critical infrastructure.

Financial & Vendor Management

• Develop and manage operating and capital budgets.

• Negotiate and oversee contracts for facilities services, utilities, maintenance providers, and construction firms.

• Monitor vendor performance and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, Security, Quality, Supply Chain, and HR to support operational priorities.

• Partner with business leaders to develop facility solutions supporting operational needs.

• Present facility performance, capital projects, and operational updates to leadership.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Experience supporting advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, electronics, biotechnology, or similarly complex technical environments.

• Demonstrated expertise with Building Management Systems (BMS) such as Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys, Honeywell, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, Tridium Niagara, or equivalent.

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation, utilities, and critical infrastructure systems.

• Proven experience leading capital projects and managing operating and capital budgets.

• Experience managing facilities operations and capital improvement programs.

• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE (Looking for one or more as a complement to the core skills)

• Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or Certified Facility Manager (CFM).

• Experience supporting classified, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments.

• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and sustainability initiatives.

• Experience with smart buildings, industrial IoT, and integrated building automation technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Mech
