About this role

The Yield Enhancement Technician / Tool Owner is responsible for improving manufacturing yield, optimizing process tool performance, and ensuring equipment reliability within a semiconductor fabrication environment. This role combines hands-on technical support with ownership of specific process tools, driving continuous improvement through data analysis, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineering teams. Primary Responsibilities: • Monitor wafer yield metrics and identify trends, excursions, and systematic defects. • Perform root cause analysis on yield loss using defect inspection, SPC charts, and process data. • Implement corrective and preventive actions  to improve yield and reduce variation. • Analyze inline and end-of-line data to detect early warning signals for yield degradation. • Work closely with process engineers, integration engineers, maintenance technicians, and operations teams. • Serve as the primary technical owner for assigned inspection tools (e.g., KLA2367, SP1/2, Puma, Altair). • Ensure tool uptime, availability, and performance meet fab targets. • Track and drive key tool metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and uptime. • Qualify tools after maintenance, upgrades, or process changes to ensure production readiness. • Provide training and technical guidance to operators and junior technicians.

Required Qualifications • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field. • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment engineering, or yield improvement. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Familiarity with SPC, FDC, and yield management systems. • Knowledge of specific semiconductor process areas (e.g., lithography, etch, deposition). • Familiarity with semiconductor defect inspection and metrology tools. • Analytical thinking and root cause problem-solving. • Attention to detail and data-driven decision making. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Semiconductor fabrication facility (cleanroom environment). • Requires use of cleanroom attire (bunny suit). • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds. • May include shift work, on-call support, or extended hours during critical issues
