Job Posting Title: Event Setup Assistant, WCP (Student) ---- Hiring Department: University Unions ---- Position Open To: All Applicants ---- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 15 ---- FLSA Status: To Be Determined at Offer ---- Earliest Start Date: Ongoing ---- Position Duration: Expected to Continue ---- Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS ---- Job Details: Purpose Event Setup Assistants are responsible for the physical setup/breakdown for all meetings and events in the William C. Powers, Jr. Student Activity Center (WCP). The position is highly collaborative with other event support departments at WCP.

Responsibilities: • Ensure that all room and event setups are completed as listed in the event setup worksheets and/or setup diagram.

• Setup/breakdown tables, chairs, stanchions, staging, etc. as necessary to meet the needs of the WCP.

• Lock and unlock meeting rooms as needed.

• Moving boxes, equipment, furniture etc. into or out of storage.

• Report all facility or equipment problems to the supervisor.

• Attend any scheduled meetings and training sessions.

• Assist loading dock with deliveries as scheduled.

• Complete all paperwork, as assigned by supervisor.

• Assist with set up of AV equipment and help return any AV equipment to its proper location upon completion of events.

Required Qualifications: • Must be a current student at The University of Texas at Austin and meet the University's student employment eligibility requirements, including enrollment in at least six (6) semester credit hours, unless otherwise eligible under University policy.

• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail

• Dependability and punctuality

• Ability to follow through on tasks until completion

• Ability to take direction, have strong problem solving and time management skills

• Ability to lift and move furniture and must be able to lift over 50 lbs

• Ability to work independently with little supervision

• Must be flexible, adapt easily to change, self-motivated and can learn quickly

• Ability to interact with a variety of clients, staff, and visitors

• Scheduling flexibility with ability to work evenings

Salary Range $11.00 per hour; 12-19 hours per week
