About this role

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Enterprise Test Capabilities (ETC) develops, operates, and scales the shared physical test infrastructure, technical expertise, and execution systems required to validate Anduril's products across the company. The team provides specialized testing that is capital-intensive, technically complex, safety-critical, or broadly reusable across multiple programs, spanning environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock, HALT, TVAC), battery testing (cell/module/pack characterization, abuse testing, BMS validation), propulsion testing (engine test cells, thrust/torque measurement, fuel/feed systems), aerodynamic testing (wind tunnel operations, flow visualization, force/moment measurement), and structural testing. We partner with product test teams from early development through qualification and sustainment to identify technical risk, select appropriate test methods, execute testing safely, and generate trusted engineering evidence. The test operations team within ETC owns the lab facilities, equipment fleet, calibration program, and operational support team that keeps this diverse test enterprise running.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking an Environmental Test Technician to join our rapidly growing environmental test team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide variety of climactic and environmental tests on the full spectrum of products developed at Anduril. You will partner directly with program test engineers to interpret requirements, tailor test methods to program needs, develop test procedures, execute or direct testing, and deliver trusted engineering data packages. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on lab instincts with the engineering judgment to make test design decisions, interpret results, and communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders.

• Develop and execute environmental test procedures for thermal, dynamic, climatic, corrosion, and ingress testing in accordance with MIL-STD-810, DO-160, and program-specific requirements

• Tailor environmental test methods to program needs, selecting appropriate test levels, durations, and success criteria based on operational environment and product requirements

• Design instrumentation and data acquisition approaches for environmental tests, including sensor selection, channel configuration, sample rates, and measurement uncertainty considerations

• Program and operate test controllers including WATLOW F4s/F4Ts and vibration control software (VibrationVIEW, ObserVIEW)

• Set up and operate electrodynamic shaker systems for sine, random, SRS, and mixed-mode vibration testing

• Analyze test data, identify anomalies, and produce engineering test reports and data packages that support qualification and certification decisions

• Partner with program test engineers from test planning through data delivery, serving as the environmental test subject matter expert

• Develop and maintain environmental test procedures, work instructions, and training materials

• Support test readiness reviews and provide technical input on test feasibility, risk, and resource requirements

• Maintain lab spaces, promote safety culture, and champion proper maintenance of capital equipment including chambers, shakers, and DAQ systems

• Travel to test sites and remote labs as needed to support field testing or capability standup

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline, OR 10+ years of progressive environmental test experience in lieu of degree

• 5+ years of hands-on environmental testing experience including thermal, vibration, and shock testing

• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-810, DO-160, or equivalent environmental test standards, including the ability to interpret and tailor test methods

• Experience developing test procedures and engineering test reports

• Proficiency with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-mix test environment supporting multiple programs simultaneously

• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
