Position Overview : The Engineering Test Lab Intern will work under the guidance and leadership of Test Engineers and Senior and/or Principal Test Technicians on validation activities for products within Navico Group’s portfolio. This type of role will apply basic engineering principles to support the test lab and, in some cases, may support program teams.

Essential Functions: • Work with validation engineers, as well as technical team members from other functions to complete tasks • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand product requirements and develop solutions to validate those products • Identify and troubleshoot basic engineering issues – both mechanical and electrical • Develop a network of key stakeholders across various functions • Support the planning and execution of validation activities including fixture design and builds, test scheduling, test execution, and test report writing • Support the creation of validation related documents including test fixture concepts, test procedures, test reports, etc. • Become familiar with the product development process and relevant deliverables • Maintain safety culture by supporting key 5S kaizen and audit processes
Internship project opportunities:
• Design and build new test stands and custom fixturing for NPD and sustaining engineering projects • Set-up and run testing on a variety of products and using a variety of test equipment • Support the creation, updates, and optimization of test documentation • Support PD&E shop with prototype and sample builds

Required Qualifications: • Working towards a Bachelor of Applied Science (BSME, BSEE, BSSE, or other) • Able to work independently and within groups • Able to synthesize a solution when design inputs are vague or incomplete • Comfortable in multi-tasking situations • Comfortable with priority shifts • Selfless, can-do attitude, willing to learn • Plan, coordinate, and prioritize many projects simultaneously
• Contribute to decision-making that affects corporate strategy
• This internship will be a full-time commitment from May to August
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States immediately, without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Hands-On mechanical work • Pursuing Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or closely related degree • Familiarity with marine and/or RV products in professional or recreational environment • Experience with new product development cycles and validation a plus

This may range from supporting larger projects to handling smaller, individual assignments. • Hours: Co-ops and Interns are expected to work a full 40-hour work week. • Feedback and Performance Reviews: As a co-op or intern, you will receive feedback and performance reviews throughout your assignment. We value the importance for interns to understand their progress and areas for improvement.
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will vary depending on multiple factors including year in school/credits earned, degree, job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
