Neuromodulation is focused on helping patients find relief and regain control through innovative therapies for chronic pain and neurological conditions. Our technologies support clinicians in delivering personalized care that can improve daily life for patients.
Pelvic Health advances care for patients managing bladder and bowel control conditions. Through proven neuromodulation therapies, we help clinicians offer treatment options that can restore confidence, independence, and everyday quality of life. This engineering leadership role oversees a team of mechanical engineers responsible for supporting released Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health products. The position provides technical and organizational leadership across sustaining engineering activities, product investigations, design changes, manufacturing support, and cross-functional issue resolution to help ensure product quality, reliability, and patient safety.
Primary Responsibilities • Lead, coach, and develop a team of mechanical engineers supporting released product engineering activities across the Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health portfolio.
• Establish team priorities, allocate resources, and drive execution across multiple concurrent engineering initiatives.
• Direct complex technical investigations, root cause analyses, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, and product remediation efforts.
• Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Operations, Clinical, and Product Development teams to resolve product and process issues.
• Oversee design changes and product modifications through established design control and change management processes.
• Drive risk identification, mitigation planning, and technical decision-making to support product performance and patient safety.
• Support supplier-related investigations, qualification activities, and manufacturing issue resolution as needed.
• Monitor team performance, resource utilization, and workload planning while developing technical capability and leadership within the organization.
Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience
• 2 years of experience with people leadership or leading technical teams and complex engineering projects
• Experience working in a regulated industry utilizing formal design control processes.
• Experience leading technical investigations and driving cross-functional issue resolution.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and stakeholders while supporting business and operational objectives.
• Engineering experience in product development, mechanical design, sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, or released product support.
Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Medical device industry experience supporting released products or sustaining engineering organizations.
• Experience with corrective and preventive action (CAPA), complaint investigations, risk management, and change control processes.
• Knowledge of Food and Drug Administration (FDA), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485, and global medical device regulations.
• Experience supporting implantable medical devices, neurostimulation systems, patient programmers, handsets, or related technologies.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
