Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Engineer Quality to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT.
What you'll get to do: • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
• Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
• Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
• Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
• Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
• May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
• May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
The ideal candidate must be able to communicate written and verbally in a team environment.
Basic Qualifications for the Engineer Quality: • Bachelor’s Degree in a related STEM field with minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality, root cause investigation, and/or technical functions in Manufacturing; Master’s Degree in a related STEM field with of 0 years of experience.
• Root Cause Corrective Actions experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
• Experience with advanced application of Data Analytics and Statistical Analysis methods.
• Experience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics.
• Electronic and/or Mechanical experience, including inspection methodology and authoring work instructions in a manufacturing environment.
• Green/Black Belt Certification in Lean Six Sigma
• SAP experience in a manufacturing environment
• Certified auditor
• Active Secret Clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
