Engineer II – Electromechanical This is a Hybrid position and requires onsite work 3 days per week at our Marrietta, GA facility.

Position Summary As an Engineer II – Electromechanical you will contribute to the development of robust electromechanical systems that help customers control inventory, track critical assets, improve point-of-use availability, and drive operational efficiency in demanding industrial settings. You can bridge mechanical and electrical/electronic design disciplines and have owned product designs from concept through implementation. This individual will apply sound engineering design principles and structured development methods, including trade studies to evaluate alternative concepts and DFMEA to assess design robustness before physical builds are created. As an Engineer II – Electromechanical , you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll get to: • Design and develop electromechanical subsystems and product features for industrial vending and asset tracking solutions, from concept through implementation. • Take personal ownership of assigned designs, including requirements of definition, concept generation, detailed design, prototyping, testing, and release to production. • Contribute to both mechanical and electrical/electronic design aspects of products, including assemblies, mechanisms, sensors, controls, wiring, and interface components as applicable. • Develop solutions for products deployed in demanding customer environments across general manufacturing and aerospace and defense industries. • Apply sound engineering design principles and methods to create robust, practical, and cost-effective solutions. • Conduct trade studies to evaluate alternative designs and support objective, data-driven engineering decisions. • Lead or participate in DFMEA activities to identify design risks, assess robustness, and improve product reliability before physical creation. • Partner closely with manufacturing, production, quality, sourcing, and other engineering teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, scalable, and aligned with quality expectations. • Incorporate design for manufacturability and design for assembly principles into product development activities. • Support prototype builds, engineering validation, root cause investigations, and implementation of corrective actions. • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, test plans, validation results, and design records.

You also have: • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in electromechanical product development. • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, structured design methods, and product development best practices. • Identify and convert the product specifications into hardware requirements by interacting with software development team, customer support department and marketing team. • Strong fundamentals in Analog & Digital circuit design using ADC, DAC, Op-amps, BJTs, MOSFETS, IGBTS, Sensors, Signal Conditioning circuits, Active/Passive Filters, FPGA, logic gates, flip-flops, microcontroller/ Microprocessors. • Proven ability to design and develop electronic hardware, component selection, obsolescence management • 2+ years of Experience in Schematic creation, Library creation, setting ERC/DRC rules, PCB layout design using Altium Designer v21 or above • Expertise with simulation and circuit analysis using excel spreadsheet, LTSpice and PSpice (or equivalents) • Managing and Designing Schematic with flat & hierarchical schematics. • Knowledge of good layout practices (part placement, cross talk, signal integrity, controlled impedance, high speed differential signaling, power distribution, etc.) for layers ranging from 2-10 layers. • Knowledge of EMI/EMC, signal integrity & power integrity • Strong knowledge of Communication protocols like SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB, Ethernet, Wireless etc. • Knowledge of documentation package including Circuit analysis, simulations, DFM, WCCA, Derating analysis, BOM, Gerber, ODB++, fabrication & assembly drawings.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience developing products or subsystems for industrial equipment, automated storage systems, vending systems, access control systems, or asset tracking solutions. • Understanding of sensors, electromechanical interfaces, control components, and system integration in industrial applications. • Familiarity with products used in manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environments. • Experience supporting prototype builds, validation testing, and transition to production. • Familiarity with root cause analysis, reliability improvement, and continuous improvement methods. • Proficiency with relevant CAD, electrical design, and engineering analysis tools.
