About this role

Amentum is seeking an  Emergency Communication Center (ECC) Supervisor  for Creech Air Force Base to oversee emergency dispatch operations at Creech Air Force Base. This critical role ensures the effective receipt, processing, and dissemination of emergency and non-emergency information to fire, medical, and security forces personnel. The ECC Supervisor leads a team of dispatchers in a 24/7 operation, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and standards to support mission success. This position reports to the ECC Manager and plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of personnel and property.

Essential Responsibilities • Supervise the activities of assigned staff, including scheduling, task prioritization, and performance evaluations, to ensure proper operational coverage and mission success. • Oversee the receipt, processing, and dissemination of emergency and non-emergency information to fire, medical, and security forces personnel. • Train and evaluate new and relief dispatchers in accordance with established guidelines; conduct daily training exercises and track completion. • Maintain required certifications for telecommunicator and Emergency Medical and Fire, Dispatch (EMD and EFD) and conduct practical evaluations for training and certification. • Prioritize incoming phone calls to ensure emergencies receive immediate attention and appropriate resources are dispatched. • Perform general administrative functions, including preparing daily and monthly reports, updating Key Performance Indicator (KPI) records, and maintaining forms and records in compliance with local policies. • Initiate recall of off-duty personnel and make required notifications during emergency and non-emergency operations. • Maintain proficiency in computerized mapping programs used during search and rescue and hazardous materials operations. • Monitor radio and telephone communications with fire, and medical field units to ensure resources are available during emergencies. • Hear and resolve complaints from employees; escalate group grievances or unresolved issues to higher-level supervisors. • Follow and enforce local standard operating policies and procedures, as well as NFPA 1061 standards. • Perform other duties as assigned in support of contractual obligations.

Work Environment & Schedule • This position supports a 24/7 operation; shift work, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call response may be required. • Must be able to fill in for dispatchers during breaks, absences, or emergencies to ensure operational continuity. • May be required to respond during off-duty hours for large-scale incidents or remain on duty until properly relieved. • Work is performed in a fast-paced environment with exposure to loud noises from radios, phones, alarms, and other equipment.

Minimum Requirements • High School Diploma or GED. • Six (6) + years of full-time work experience in emergency communications or dispatching emergency services, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance, as required by the U.S. Government and the contract.  U.S. citizenship is required to meet U.S. Government security clearance requirements for this position. • Must possess or obtain certification as a DoD Public Safety Telecommunicator I & II through an accredited program (e.g. DoD/DoW) within six months of hire. • Must possess or obtain certification to DoD Hazardous Material Awareness level through an accredited program within six months of hire. • Must possess or obtain certification as Emergency Medical, Fire, Dispatcher (EMD and EFD) through an accredited program (IAED preferred) immediately after being hired. • Proficiency in Computer-Aided 911 VESTA phone systems, and computerized mapping programs. • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job functions, including preparing reports, understanding procedures, and communicating with clients and team members. • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which may include: • Speaking clearly and effectively to communicate with emergency responders and distressed callers. • Remaining alert during periods of inactivity and repetitive operations. • Distinguishing different colors and hearing audio signals (hearing aids permitted). • Working in a loud environment with radios, phones, computers, fans, and alarms. • Standing and walking for extended periods, climbing stairs, and lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications • Certification as a DoD Public Safety Telecommunicator I & II, Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) and Fire Dispatcher (EFD), through IAED. • Prior supervisory experience in a government or military emergency communications center. • Familiarity with Computer-Aided 911 VESTA phone systems. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and communicate effectively under pressure. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in emergency and non-emergency situations.
