Job Title : Electronics Technician Reporting To: Head, Engrg. Sect. Work Schedule: Onsite – Santa Barbara, CA Moog Santa Barbara Operations  provides advanced hardware and software solutions for ground defense platforms, with expertise in turret weapon systems, system integration, and precision motion control. From concept phase to prototype builds and field testing, we enable mission success through engineering innovation and operational excellence.

With growing demand for our products in both domestic and international defense markets, Moog Santa Barbara Operations continues to expand its capabilities and workforce. Our experienced team of systems, software, mechanical, and electrical engineers collaborates to deliver innovative solutions that support the evolving needs of our customers and their missions.

We are seeking a Senior Electronics Technician to play a key role in the assembly, integration, testing, and support of our integrated weapon systems. This position is ideal for a technician with strong electronics manufacturing experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced development and production environment.

Here is what you will be working on day to day:

• Perform all phases of electronic assembly and manufacturing • Assemble circuit cards, including through-hole and SMT soldering • Fabricate and assemble electronic interconnects such as harnesses and cables • Build and assemble control panels • Perform basic mechanical fabrication • Construct and check out military cables • Work with high-power, high-voltage AC and DC circuits and controllers • Conduct basic testing and troubleshooting of electronic units and assemblies • Build and verify in-house designed electronic test equipment • Interpret and work from electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, manufacturing outlines, worksheets, and parts lists • Coordinate with engineering, drafting, machine shop, quality assurance, purchasing, subcontractors, and vendors to support program goals • Contribute to cost estimates, schedules, and technical proposals as needed • Follow lab safety, ESD, and quality standards in all aspects of work

Here are the skills we need you to bring with you:

• High school diploma or GED • Formal electronics training from a technical school, Class A or B military electronics school, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant hands-on experience • Certification to J-STD-001 or equivalent soldering standard, or ability to obtain certification • Ability to solder small electronic components and connections using microscopes or other vision-enhancing tools • Experience with military cable manufacturing methods and requirements • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and other technical documentation • Understanding of ESD prevention practices and electro-mechanical lab safety procedures • Experience using small power and hand tools (drills, hammers, drivers, etc.), and measuring equipment (calipers, etc.) • Ability to disassemble, reassemble, and repair electronic and electromechanical assemblies • Familiarity with IPC standards related to the assembly and repair of electronic components preferred • Familiarity with common electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and meters • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Salary Range Transparency: Santa Barbara, CA $40.00–$50.00 Hourly Salary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits. 

This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
