IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Cincinnati, OH. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while working closely with experienced engineers and consultants, with an HVAC focus area for this posting. You'll support project budgets, documentation, cross-functional coordination, and periodic job site observations while contributing to industrial and manufacturing projects. This role offers hands-on exposure to industrial facility and production-space upgrades, supporting high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do · Assist with electrical system design for projects in accordance with code and IMEG standards · Assist with researching commercially available equipment for project needs · Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files · Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers · Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress · Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to final check · Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information · Conduct periodic job site observations and support other services required by the contract services agreement
What You'll Bring Required Education · Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Experience · Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
Required Skills/Abilities · Strong interest in design consulting · Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software · Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook · Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

State of Ohio Salary Range: $22.00/hour–$24.00/hour The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location. Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options. In addition, IMEG provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
