Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

As a member of the TASER Electrical Engineering team, you will engage in hands-on design, development, and testing of innovative electronics that are integral to Axon TASER products. You will apply strong technical skills and sound engineering judgment to develop robust, high-quality hardware that meets product, performance, and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will own the design, implementation, and verification of assigned circuits and subsystems while collaborating closely with Senior Electrical Engineers and cross-functional partners across product engineering, firmware, new product introduction, manufacturing, and quality teams. You will contribute to technical discussions, participate in design and layout reviews, and continue developing your technical expertise while helping deliver reliable products that make a meaningful impact. Join a passionate engineering team dedicated to solving complex challenges and delivering technologies that positively impact Law Enforcement, Public Safety, and the communities they serve.

Your Day-to-Day

• Research, propose, and develop innovative circuit designs for products such as TASER energy weapons, TASER-enabled devices, wirelessly connected TASER products, and related accessories.

• Design, develop, and verify assigned system circuitry and hardware aligned with project objectives and requirements.

• Using OrCAD Schematic tools, design embedded mixed-signal electronic circuitry that integrates high-voltage power supply circuitry, microcontrollers, flashlight/indication/display circuitry and drivers, memory devices (FLASH/EEPROM), switch-mode and linear power supplies, batteries, data interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, USB), RF transceivers, electromechanical transducers, and other discrete digital and analog components.

• Collaborate with PCB designers to develop layout implementations and review designs for signal integrity, power integrity, manufacturability, and reliability using Cadence layout tools.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, technology partners, and manufacturing teams to support electronics development throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through production.

• Participate in schematic and layout design reviews to improve design quality, manufacturability, and product reliability.

• Develop test methods and create test plans to evaluate and validate hardware designs.

• Bring up, characterize, and debug systems and circuits using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, hi-pot testers, and other electronic test equipment.

• Evaluate and document design outcomes, test results, and related information, then present findings to the engineering team for review and discussion.

• Support regulatory compliance efforts (FCC, CE, IEC, etc.) through sound design practices, testing, and debug activities.

• Optimize electronic designs using simulation tools and hands-on laboratory measurements.

• Develop, evaluate, and help finalize assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), Gerber files, and other design documentation required for product release.

• Partner with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to develop and define test requirements for PCBA board-level testers and system functional test fixtures used in production.

• Contribute to technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline.

• 3+ years of professional electronics design experience with emphasis on designing densely populated, tightly packaged, power control and delivery systems in embedded electronics.

• Demonstrated experience contributing to hardware development across all design phases, including schematic design, PCB layout collaboration, bring-up, debug, verification, and production release.

• Experience designing embedded electronic systems that meet product requirements. Proficient in collaborating with product and engineering teams to evaluate design trade-offs and develop robust, manufacturable solutions.

• Proficient in power supply design and selection based on product requirements and engineering trade-offs. Experience designing with switch-mode power supplies (buck, boost, buck/boost, and flyback), including circuit operation, component selection, and validation. Experience with high-voltage power supply design is preferred; experience developing, testing, or characterizing custom magnetics is a plus.

• Demonstrated experience designing, integrating, and verifying electronic subsystems in several of the following areas: embedded microcontrollers, power supply design (switch-mode and linear regulators), power delivery networks, memory subsystems (FLASH/EEPROM), high- and low-speed communication interfaces (USB, UART, SPI, I2C), high-power interfaces, battery applications, battery chargers, high-power LED driver design, and RF subsystem integration.

• Experience designing products for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and protecting circuitry against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electrostatic discharge (ESD). Familiar with common filtering, grounding, shielding, protection techniques, and snubber circuit design.

• Collaborates effectively with firmware engineers to develop, integrate, and debug embedded electronic systems.

• Strong hands-on prof
