About this role
Job Summary The EHS Lead is responsible for supporting the safe, compliant, organized, and efficient operation of Insulet’s Irvine, CA manufacturing site. This role provides hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety leadership with primary responsibility for safety programs, regulatory compliance, and proactive risk reduction across the site.
In addition to core EHS responsibilities, this role also supports key site operations through coordination of office, facility, and administrative activities that enable a well-functioning workplace. The successful candidate is expected to spend meaningful time on the manufacturing floor and throughout the facility, partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, HR, Security, Facilities, and external vendors to reinforce safe behaviors, maintain compliance readiness, and ensure the site operates efficiently and professionally.

 Position Overview

This role provides hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety leadership with primary responsibility for safety programs, regulatory compliance, and proactive risk reduction across the site.

The successful candidate is expected to spend meaningful time on the manufacturing floor and throughout the facility, partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, HR, Security, Facilities, and external vendors to reinforce safe behaviors, maintain compliance readiness, and ensure the site operates efficiently and professionally.
Responsibilities
• Lead daily execution of site EHS programs, including safety inspections, hazard identification, corrective action follow-up, incident response, and employee safety engagement.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, local fire authority, environmental, emergency preparedness, and company EHS requirements applicable to the Irvine manufacturing site.
• Coordinate and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and communication of lessons learned.
• Own assigned safety programs such as emergency response, evacuation drills, lockout/tagout support, PPE compliance, ergonomics, chemical handling, spill response, contractor safety, and safety committee coordination.
• Maintain EHS documentation, training records, inspection logs, permits, audit evidence, and compliance records in an audit-ready state.
• Partner with site leaders to reinforce safe work practices, address unsafe conditions, and drive a proactive safety culture across all shifts and functional areas.
Office, Facility, and Administrative Support (in support of site operations):
• Support day-to-day office and workplace operations ensuring organization and readiness.
• Serve as key contact for office administration and workplace support.
• S upport onboarding logistics including access, orientation, and workspace readiness.
• Support employee communications, events, audits, and leadership visits.
• Coordinate vendor services, janitorial needs, and facility support requests.
• Track and close facility and workplace-related actions and service requests.

• Culture Setter – models professionalism, respect, confidentiality, and service orientation while helping create a safe, organized, and engaging workplace.
Required Skills and Competencies
• Working knowledge of manufacturing EHS practices, OSHA/Cal-OSHA expectations, emergency response, hazard identification, incident investigation, corrective action tracking, and safety training administration.
• Strong office management, administrative coordination, vendor follow-up, scheduling, recordkeeping, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively on the manufacturing floor and in office environments, balancing hands-on visibility with disciplined administrative execution.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information and interact professionally with employees, visitors, vendors, and leaders at all levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, shared file systems, Teams/SharePoint, spreadsheets, trackers, and basic reporting tools.
• Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, inspection requirements, training records, and applicable regulatory or internal compliance expectations.
• Strong prioritization, follow-through, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple open action items to closure.
