Job Posting Title: Education Abroad Graduate Assistant ---- Hiring Department: Texas Global ---- Position Open To: All Applicants ---- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 20 ---- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt from FLSA ---- Earliest Start Date: Immediately ---- Position Duration: Expected to Continue Until May 15, 2027 ---- Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS ---- Job Details: General Notes Hiring for two positions. Individual must be available to work 20 hours; position is for both Fall and Spring semesters.
Purpose Provide support for Assistant Director of Exchange/Affiliate and the team they oversee in Education Abroad (Texas Global), who facilitate outbound programming and advising for students studying abroad on exchange and affiliate partner programs.
Responsibilities
Support the promotion of Education Abroad events and programs: • Create publicity materials, publish calendar events, and assist with coordination for varied EA events including, fairs, information sessions, pre-departure sessions, etc. Assistance with promotion at the fair, information session, orientations, as needed • Assist with the preparation and updating of materials, presentations, publications, workshops, and web pages as needed. • Conduct research and outreach to expand EA program and event visibility across campus and for targeted audiences as needed
Support EA administrative and student enrollment processes: • Support EA information management of program and student records using EA databases, systems, and tracking tools. • Track and support student enrollment processes for registration, financial aid, pre-departure preparation, and compliance. • Support program and student evaluation processes, data compilation, and feedback loops as needed; facilitate surveys and focus groups for stakeholders. • Support programming processes by updating manuals, documents, presentations, web content, and Canvas courses as needed. • Support credit processes and research course equivalencies as needed. • Create efficiencies and streamline data in the knowledge management system (Asana).
Support student advising: • Support general student advising, advise for specific programs(s), host remote advising and live Q&A sessions, and create short advising videos. • Help train and support peer advisors. • Other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications Preference will be given to applicants who are detail-oriented, organized, flexible, familiar with data tracking and analysis, management of data records, and can work independently and accurately with little supervision. Advanced use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, public speaking, and previous office work experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of University administrative processes; experience with customer service experience; experience with marketing and outreach; knowledge of project management software or other tools, such as Asana; prior study abroad experience. Individual to be available to continue into the 2028-29 academic year.
Salary Range $20.00 per hour
