Echocardiographer Technologist (Full Time) - Jefferson Health Center City, Philadelphia

Job Details Full Time Position- Monday through Friday- 9a-530p. Honickman Building location- Center City- with occasional coverage at our other outpatient satellite labs if needed.

The Echocardiography Diagnostic Technologist performs complete echocardiographic examinations including M-mode, two-dimension and Doppler Echocardiography on clinical and/or research patients. Assists the Cardiologist, Fellows or other appropriate personnel in performing trans esophageal echocardiographic and stress echocardiographic examinations. He/she may also assist in coordinating efficient patient flow, staff assignments, educational support and highest quality procedures consistent with IAC standards for Echocardiography.

Job Description • Escorts patient from waiting area to examination room and reviews written history questionnaire. Explains nature of test to patient. • Performs echocardiograms – 2D, M-mode, color Doppler according to department policy to comply with physician orders/standard of care. • Performs trans-esophageal echocardiograms (TEE) on non-operative/intra-operative basis according to department policy to comply with physician orders/standard of care. • Performs dobutamine stress echocardiograms (DSE), Stress Echocardiograms according to department policy to comply with physician orders/standards of care. • Logs all pertinent patient/test data to ensure accurate billing/record keeping for the hospital and department. • Monitors performance/repair of clinical equipment to ensure the quality of all testing and the safety of staff and internal/external customers. • Maintains images in EHR • Cleans/disinfects/sterilizes clinical equipment to ensure staff and internal/external customer safety from pathogens. • Participates in on call as per department policy. Performs other duties as assigned.
