Job Summary Managing Directors in Public Finance are experienced senior bankers with proven client relationship skills, extensive product knowledge, technical expertise, and strong transaction execution capabilities. They are often responsible for handling all client meetings, including those involving negotiations on pricing or structure of a financing. Managing Directors serve as key contacts for many clients, including senior C-suite executives in the Affordable Housing industry. Individuals in this role are widely recognized as industry experts and consistently high performers, typically with 10+ years of experience in Public Finance.

Essential Functions • Responsible for the origination, structuring, and distribution of Public Finance solutions to borrowers within the Affordable Housing sector • Networks inside and outside of the company to broaden business knowledge and increase personal effectiveness; involvement in industry-related associations; establishes a network within the financial community • Acts as primary banker and advisor for major clients • Adds new dimension to the client relationship by creatively drawing on the full resources of the company • Keeps abreast of emerging client trends • Gathers information to understand client strategies and their view of market opportunities • Modifies proposals or plans to deal with clients’ concerns and incorporate clients’ suggestions • Develops and maintains important client relationships and generates revenues from these relationships • Demonstrates the organization’s value to clients in terms of clients’ financial strategies and measures • Identifies ways that the organization’s product, sales, and service units work together to deliver value • Searches actively for ways to contribute to client profitability • Develops and maintains partnerships with all peers in Public Sector and Fixed Income to provide high-quality solutions and service to clients • Provides technical and developmental support to more junior individuals on the team • Assembles a balanced, diverse team to provide high-quality solutions and service to clients • Makes a systematic analysis to determine the cause of a problem and identify constraints before recommending action; acts decisively to implement solutions, resolves crisis, and follows up to assure resolution • Demonstrates an understanding of what is working, what is not working, and how to improve; searches actively for efficiencies in the way the organization services clients • Internal and external recognition of expertise • Executes strategy within corporate guidelines and policies • Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.

Education • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

• OR equivalent experience (required)

Work Experience • 10+ years of relevant banking experience, with proven client relationship/sales abilities in the focus sectors within Public Finance (required) • Proven and experienced in investment banking and capable of complete independent activity, including origination, structuring, and execution of large, complex transactions (required)

Licenses and Certifications • FINRA License S7 (required) • FINRA License S63 (required)

Skills • Possesses broad product knowledge and specific technical expertise • Exceptional at developing and maintaining important client relationships and generating revenues from these relationships • Ability to articulate our products and services to clients • Possesses superior client relationship management, marketing presentation, and sales skills, in addition to extensive knowledge of products and markets; communicates proactively with traders, sales reps, and clients • Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Identifies and mitigates financial and operational risks in deal execution • Leads diverse teams and provides strategic direction and mentorship • Develops and executes strategies aligned with client goals and market trends • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including C-suite executives • Oversees financial planning and revenue forecasting for client mandates • Manages complex transactions from origination through execution • Contributes to internal policy improvements and client advisory frameworks • Deep expertise in structuring and distributing public sector financing solutions

Physical Demands • General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

Travel • Occasional travel to include overnight stay.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $165,000.00 - $345,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
