About this role

About the Role

Our client is hiring a Director of Product to own two of the most critical product areas in its global payments platform: money movement infrastructure and identity.

You will work directly with the CTO and lead multiple engineering leads responsible for product areas across ramps and identity. This is a highly hands-on product leadership role with direct accountability for strategy, execution, delivery, and business outcomes.

On the ramps side, you will own how money enters and exits the platform across ACH, wires, SEPA, local payment rails, stablecoins, and crypto on/off-ramps. You will be responsible for improving reliability, settlement speed, transaction economics, provider redundancy, and the overall customer experience of moving money.

On the identity side, you will own the product strategy for turning verified identity into reusable infrastructure. While compliance owns KYC and KYB collection and adjudication, you will own what happens after verification, including reusable identity, onboarding optimization, attestations, identity federation, business identity, and product experiences powered by verified customer data.

This role is ideal for a senior fintech product leader who can move comfortably between product strategy, technical architecture, payments infrastructure, blockchain ecosystems, provider negotiations, data analysis, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Leadership

- Own the product strategy, roadmap, prioritization, sequencing, and execution across ramps and identity product areas.

- Work directly with the CTO to make high-impact product, technical, commercial, and operational decisions.

- Lead multiple engineering leads, each responsible for a product area, and hold accountability for delivery, quality, pace, and business outcomes.

- Develop and mentor engineering and product leaders by giving them ownership while maintaining alignment across product areas.

- Write clear product specifications, decision records, and requirements that engineering teams can execute against.

- Make informed trade-offs between customer experience, technical complexity, regulatory requirements, speed, cost, and reliability.

- Partner closely with engineering, compliance, finance, operations, support, and external providers.

- Represent our client in provider discussions, partner reviews, customer escalations, and enterprise diligence conversations.

Ramps and Money Movement

- Own the end-to-end product experience for funding and payouts across ACH, wires, SEPA, local payment rails, stablecoins, and crypto on/off-ramps.

- Improve key money movement metrics, including time to first successful deposit, payout success rate, settlement times, transaction failures, and customer clarity throughout the payment lifecycle.

- Define and execute company payment rail and provider strategy.

- Evaluate, select, negotiate with, and manage relationships with banking partners, payment service providers, and on/off-ramp providers.

- Build business cases for payment infrastructure decisions based on market coverage, transaction costs, FX spreads, settlement speed, reliability, and unit economics.

- Lead expansion into new markets, currencies, and payment corridors.

- Own the economics of money movement, including transaction costs, fees, FX, and margin by corridor and rail.

- Identify recurring payment failures, reconciliation issues, rejected transfers, and support pain points, and turn them into scalable product improvements.

- Partner with engineering on critical money movement architecture, including balance accuracy, duplicate payments, timeouts, reconciliation, provider failures, and other failure modes.

- Define provider redundancy and routing strategies to improve resilience when a payment rail or provider becomes unavailable.

Identity and Verification Products

- Own the product strategy for how verified customer and business identity is used throughout the company ecosystem.

- Rebuild onboarding experiences to reduce unnecessary verification steps for returning or previously verified customers.

- Improve identity verification pass rates and time-to-verified.

- Define and build reusable identity capabilities, allowing verified customers to use their identity across relevant products, partners, protocols, and counterparties.

- Develop attestation layer, including what can verify or vouch for, how customers control that information, and how identity data remains current.

- Lead the development of identity federation capabilities, enabling customers to present verified identity to external partners and allowing our client to recognize identity established through other trusted sources.

- Build scalable business identity models covering organizations, owners, signers, and counterparties.

- Use verified identity to unlock better product experiences, including higher limits, faster payouts, streamlined onboarding, and automatic access to additional products.

- Improve transparency across identity workflows by giving customers clear verification status, explanations for failures or pending states, and actionable paths forward.

Cross-Functional Execution

- Work closely with compliance and regulatory stakeholders to ensure product decisions support KYC, KYB, AML, and other applicable requirements.

- Translate complex regulatory, payments, and technical constraints into clear product decisions.

- Use data directly to investigate funnel performance, customer friction, transaction failures, and product opportunities.

- Build strong feedback loops between customer support, operations, engineering, compliance, and product.

- Balance short-term execution with long-term platform architecture and product strategy.

Requirements

- 8+ years of product management experience, including senior-level or product leadership responsibilities.
