The University of Miami Health System is initiating a search for Director of Neurogastroenterology and Motility.

The Motility Lab Director for Digestive Health Services is responsible for the oversight, safety of all patients having motility procedures, and interpretation and reading of studies done by a nurse and tech at UHealth Towers, Lennar Medical Foundation, and Sole Mia. The Motility Lab Director shall be a member of the active Medical Staff, and shall be administratively responsible for working collaboratively with hospital leadership in addressing issues of common concern related to patient care taking place within the Motility Lab.  On an annual basis, the performance of the Motility Lab Director shall be evaluated by the Medical Director based on the effectiveness of his/her leadership role and the satisfactory execution of duties.

Essential Job Functions: • Read and result motility studies to outpatients. • Provide direct inpatient and outpatient care to GI patients at UHealth Locations and Jackson Memorial Hospital. • Rotate proportionate to other faculty on Gastroenterology inpatient and JMH teaching services. • Provide oversight for the motility program in Lennar and spend an additional half day reading motility studies performed by hospital ancillary staff.  • Provides training and oversight for motility nurses and technicians who are performing the motility testing. • Works with onsite Nursing Managers to make decisions on equipment functionality, charge capture issues, and procedure operating procedures. • Assuring for the interpretation and reading of all motility procedures within required timeframes.

Desired Qualifications: • M.D./D.O. Degree Required. • ACGME US Internal Medicine Residency. • Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship • Board Certification/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. • Florida Medical License prior to start. • Valid DEA licensure. • Previous experience reading motility studies and overseeing studies performed required.
