Purpose The Director of Career Success cultivates employer partnerships, expands experiential learning opportunities, and assists in preparing students for meaningful careers. The position serves as the primary liaison between SCL, employers, and campus partners, leading initiatives that enhance career readiness, strengthen employer engagement.
Responsibilities PROGRAM LEADERSHIP • Lead a comprehensive Career Success program that connects students with career pathways, and expands access to employers, mentors, and professional resources. • Manage the SCL Career Success budget and oversee related business processes. • Establish and oversee SCL resume support services, including training staff to provide resume guidance and career preparation support. • Develop and manage the SCL Career Success calendar for students, employers, and mentors. Coordinate networking events, employer engagement opportunities, job fairs, and field-specific programming aligned with SCL majors, while overseeing all related logistics and business processes.
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with employer partners seeking to recruit SCL students across all majors and career pathways. • Consult with employer partners to strengthen their campus presence, understand hiring trends and workforce needs, and identify opportunities that align with student interests and career outcomes. • Cultivate relationships with hiring managers and organizational leaders to expand year-round internship and employment opportunities for SCL students. • Promote employer recruiting initiatives, sponsorship opportunities, and career programming, as appropriate. • Develop and oversee the SCL Industry Mentorship Program. • Maintain collaborative relationships with UT internship and experiential learning partners, including UTLA, UTNY, Archer Fellowship Program, and other relevant campus partners. • Maintain partnerships with UT Career Success and participate in relevant professional development and networking opportunities.
COMMUNICATIONS & SCL PARTNERSHIPS • Serve as a member of the SCL Career Success & Internships Working Group to refine the Career Success course sequence, support program assessment, and guide continuous improvement efforts. • Collaborate with SCL Development, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Events to advance Career Success initiatives and achieve shared objectives. • Collect, analyze, synthesize, and report Career Success data to evaluate outcomes, identify trends, and inform strategic planning and program development. • Communicate Career Success initiatives across SCL and maintain Career Success-related website content. • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in a related field. • Seven (7) years of experience building a career or helping students build careers. • Exceptional communication, relationship management, and strategic planning skills. • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Salary Range $85,000+ depending on qualifications
