About the role

The Director of Accounting, Deployment serves as the divisional controllership lead for TNC’s growing nuclear deployment business. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, this role owns the accuracy and integrity of the division’s financials, including month-end close, reporting into corporate consolidation, accounting policy, and internal controls across Deployment entities, joint ventures, special-purpose vehicles, projects, and acquired businesses.

Working closely with the Head of Finance, Deployment, Corporate Controllership, and external auditors, the Director will establish scalable accounting processes, integrate acquisitions and new projects, and ensure consistent application of TNC’s accounting policies and procedures. This is a build-and-scale leadership role focused on strengthening internal capabilities, maintaining audit readiness, and advancing SOX and ICFR readiness as TNC’s deployment business grows.

Responsibilities

• Month-End Close and Financial Reporting. Own the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the division’s financial results, project reporting, month-end close, and reporting into corporate consolidation. Establish a reliable divisional close process and partner closely with the Corporate Controller to align accounting policies, close calendars, reporting requirements, and consolidation handoffs.

• Technical Accounting and Policy. Ensure the consistent application of accounting policies across Deployment entities, joint ventures, special-purpose vehicles, projects, and acquired businesses. Lead accounting for project and development costs under ASC 720 and ASC 340; construction in progress, capitalization, and impairment considerations under ASC 360; consolidation matters under ASC 810; power purchase agreements under ASC 606 or ASC 842; and intercompany transactions. Align technical conclusions and supporting documentation with Corporate Controllership and external auditors.

• Purchase Accounting and Acquisition Integration. Lead accounting for acquisitions, including opening balance sheets, purchase price allocations, identification and valuation of intangible assets, and post-acquisition adjustments and true-ups. Partner with the Technical Accounting lead and Corporate Controller to integrate acquired businesses into TNC’s accounting policies, close processes, control environment, and reporting structure.

• Systems, Processes, and Controls. Lead the integration of acquired businesses and new entities into TNC’s ERP and finance systems, including migration to a common chart of accounts and NetSuite. Standardize processes, retire legacy tools, strengthen internal controls, and ensure financial data, processes, and documentation meet audit and investor-reporting requirements.

• Financial Reporting Readiness. Support the implementation of SOX and internal control over financial reporting requirements while establishing public-company-level reporting discipline, controls, documentation, and timelines across the division.

• Cross-Functional Partnership. Partner effectively with Deployment Finance, FP&A, Legal, Operations, and other business leaders while maintaining clear accounting policy, control, and reporting accountability.

• Team and Capability Development. Build and develop the Deployment accounting function as the business grows. Operate as a player-coach, providing leadership and technical direction while remaining hands-on in close, reporting, accounting integration, and process development when needed.

Experience

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, including experience in a senior accounting leadership role such as Controller, Assistant Controller, or divisional controllership lead.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Strong technical accounting foundation under U.S. GAAP, including experience supporting construction, infrastructure development, or other large-scale capital projects.

• Experience working within a complex, multi-entity environment involving joint ventures, special-purpose vehicles, project financing, or acquired businesses.

• Demonstrated ownership of month-end close, financial reporting, and consolidation into a corporate parent.

• Experience leading acquisition and purchase accounting activities, including opening balance sheets, purchase price allocations, identification of intangible assets
