About this role

About Engine

Engine is the all-in-one travel and spend management platform trusted by 38K+ businesses and groups representing 1.8M+ travelers. We're the retailer and the rails of business travel, the fastest-growing company in travel tech, built on a decade of proprietary technology, supply, and pricing no one else can replicate. Other travel and AI companies run on our infrastructure to book real trips, hold rates, and move payments, without building any of it themselves. We built it, AI-forward at every layer, from how travelers book to how the rails run.

That work has earned recognition as one of Fast Company's Best Workplaces for Innovators (2025), TravelTech's Reservation Platform of the Year (2026), and one of Built In's Best Places to Work (2020–2026).

We're looking for bold, ambitious people to help redefine how businesses manage and experience travel. Working here, you can expect exponential growth, an ambitious pace, full ownership, and high-caliber colleagues who push you to do the best work of your career. Every hire raises the bar.

Come outpace the ordinary and build the future of travel with us.

Join Our Journey at Engine

We are looking for a Director, Business Analytics to lead a large, high-performing analytics organization embedded across our Growth, Sales, and Finance teams. This is a senior leadership role for someone who wants to sit at the center of how a fast-growing travel and fintech company makes its most consequential decisions.

This isn’t an analytics oversight role, it’s a seat at the table. You will own the analytical agenda for the functions that directly drive revenue, customer growth, and financial performance, acting as a strategic thought partner to our leadership team. You will define how the business uses data, set the standard for analytical excellence, and build the team and systems to back it up.

As part of Engine’s Data organization, you will shape how analytics supports a fast-growing travel technology company at scale and ensure that data is a primary driver of how we grow, compete, and win.

Your Mission

• Strategic Analytics Leadership: Own the analytics vision and roadmap for Marketing, Sales, and Finance. Define how the team measures what matters, connects analytical work to business outcomes, and drives decisions.

• Org Leadership & Team Development: Lead, grow, and develop a team of 15+. This role will set a high bar for analytical quality, business partnership, and career development. Build a deep leadership pipeline and develop the next generation of analytical leaders at Engine.

• Executive Partnership: Serve as the primary analytics partner to Engine’s commercial and financial leadership. Translate complex data into clear, confident perspectives that influence strategy, investment decisions, and quarterly priorities.

• Growth Analytics: Partner with Growth leadership to build the analytical foundation for customer acquisition, attribution, channel performance, lifecycle value, campaign ROI, and growth experimentation. Help the team understand what drives customers to Engine and what keeps them.

• Sales Analytics: Equip the revenue organization with the insights it needs to perform — pipeline health, forecast accuracy, rep performance, win/loss analysis, territory optimization, and incentive design.

• Finance & Business Performance Analytics: Partner with Finance to power revenue reporting, unit economics, cohort analysis, budgeting support, and the company-level metrics that drive executive and board-level decision-making.

• Analytics Operating Model: Build and continuously improve a best-in-class analytics operating model — including prioritization, stakeholder management, metric governance, reusable frameworks, quality standards, and a culture of rigorous, accountable work. Define what excellent analytics looks like at Engine.

• Raise the Analytical Bar: Elevate the craft across the team — metric definition, data storytelling, root-cause analysis, experimentation, forecasting, and causal inference. Develop analysts into strong business partners who influence decisions, communicate with clarity, and operate with ownership.

• Data Foundation: Identify gaps in the underlying data and partner with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering to build the instrumentation, data models, and self-service capabilities the business needs to operate and grow with confidence.

What You’ll Bring to Engine

Required

• Experience: 10+ years in business analytics, data analytics, or a related analytical function, with deep experience supporting commercial functions — Marketing, Sales, Finance, or Revenue Operations.

• Leadership Depth: 5+ years managing analytics teams, including proven experience managing managers and leading multi-team organizations. A strong track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing analytical talent.

• Executive Presence: Demonstrated experience as a strategic analytics partner to CROs, CMOs, CFOs, or comparable senior leaders. Ability to synthesize complexity into clear, confident recommendations that drive action.

• Business Judgment: Strong ability to connect analytics work to revenue growth, customer value, operational efficiency, and strategic priorities. You understand the commercial levers of a high-growth business, not just the data.

• Technical Fluency: Strong SQL skills and comfort working with large, complex datasets. Fluency with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar) and modern data stacks (Snowflake, dbt, or similar).

• Operating Model Builder: Experience building scalable analytics processes, prioritization systems, reporting standards, and metric governance frameworks across multiple business domains simultaneously.

• Domain Expertise: Deep familiarity with the metrics that drive commercial performance — CAC, LTV, pipeline conversion, quota attainment, revenue retention, unit economics, attribution, and more.

• Environment Fit: Experience driving analytics i
