Position Summary The role of Alumni and Constituent Engagement (ACE) is to build a strong and lasting connection between the university and its community, nurturing a sense of pride, belonging, and active involvement. We strive to establish a pathway that enables alumni, parents, and friends to develop a lifelong philanthropic relationship with WashU, contributing to its growth, sustainability, and continued excellence.
The Networks team works closely with our colleagues across Advancement and with alumni volunteers to create meaningful engagement opportunities through regional, shared interest and cultural, and professional industry networks.
The Director, Alumni Networks will work closely with ACE and Alumni Networks leadership to design experiences that increase engagement in assigned regions. The director will ensure alignment between the university’s priorities and the needs of alumni, parents, and friends. The director will develop programs which feature university leaders, faculty members, and distinguished alumni, as well as social, networking, and cultural activities.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Oversee the management of established alumni networks within assigned regions to build a strong WashU presence. Collaborate with University Advancement colleagues and colleagues across campus to develop programming that is relevant and enticing to alumni and friends. Ensure that programming meets broad University objectives and makes the most effective use of university resources.
• Manage in-person and virtual events including strategy, planning, and execution. Responsibilities include:
• • securing event space and working with external vendors
• • providing direction to administrative staff who will assist with event logistics
• • developing briefings for colleagues who will be working at the events
• • coordinating travel schedules for university leaders and faculty
• • creating follow-up plans for constituents
• • drafting remarks for volunteer leaders and providing event summaries and analysis
• • traveling frequently to lead the successful execution of in-person events and programs
• Identify, cultivate, and train volunteers. Communicate frequently with volunteers and meet with them as needed. Provide recommendations and support to volunteers who develop and implement a schedule of attractive and diverse programs aimed at engaging alumni.
• The director may manage up to two associate directors or senior associate directors, and a shared administrative assistant.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is located in St. Louis, MO and the targeted hiring range for this position is $75,200 - $95,000.

Salary Range $75,200.00 - $128,800.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
