About this role
The Parts Repair Center Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily operations of the Dematic Repair Center, overseeing a team of Repair Technicians responsible for the testing, troubleshooting, repair, and validation of electronic and electro-mechanical components received from customers as well as new parts supporting Dematic's manufacturing operations in Salt Lake City. This is a working supervisor role that combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical support. The incumbent will actively participate in troubleshooting complex repairs, maintaining and calibrating test equipment and fixtures, supporting ISO compliant processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality repair operations. The supervisor serves as the primary point of escalation for technical issues while ensuring operational performance meets customer expectations for quality, turnaround time, cost, and delivery. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $68,625 - $100,650 at the time of posting. Tasks and Qualifications: What You Will Do In This Role: • Lead, guide as a mentor, and develop a group of maintenance specialists. • Establish daily priorities and allocate resources to meet repair and production requirements. • Monitor workload, repair backlog, technician productivity, and service levels. • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and employee development planning. • Ensure training, skill development, and cross-training plans are maintained. • Provide direct technical assistance for sophisticated problem-solving and repair activities • Support testing alongside confirmation of new components used within Dematic manufacturing operations. • Evaluate failed electronic assemblies, PCBs, and subassemblies to determine root cause and implement solutions. • Verify that PCBs and electronic units are tested completely and meet quality standards before release. • Assist in the build, development, and implementation of specialized testing apparatus and jigs for new and prototype products. • Recommend fixtures, software, and process improvements to enhance test coverage and product quality. • Repair or modify electronic assemblies in accordance with engineering change orders (ECOs). • Maintain accurate records of repairs in the SAP ERP system, resolving issues and customer feedback • Support Business Transformation initiatives • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and verification of repair and test fixtures. • Support internal and external audits as the need arises. • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring failures and customer returns. • Champion ESD prevention and compliance programs throughout the Repair Center. • Find opportunities to improve repair throughput, quality, and operational efficiency through Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement projects. • Analyze repair data and trends to reduce repeat failures and warranty costs. • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to improve products and processes. • Support customer blocking issue investigations and corrective action activities while ensuring turnaround time commitments are achieved. • Supervise repair center performance metrics and implement corrective actions when targets are not met. • Participate in budget, staffing, and operational planning activities.
What We Are Looking For: • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Electronic Engineering Technology or a related field, combining education and experience in a technical subject area. • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience resolving problems in analog and digital electronic systems. • Customer & Business Focus • Management and Resolution of Customer Blocking Issues • Technical Troubleshooting Expertise & RCA • Repair Center Tech Operations, Leadership & Team Development • Business Process & Continuous Improvement and adapting to new ways of working • Problem-solving, Adaptability, Attention to details and Accuracy • Quality & Compliance Management • Decision Making & Problem Solving • Ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs. • Frequent standing, bending, and walking in warehouse areas. • Visual acuity to inspect electronic assemblies and components. • Ability to work safely in a repair center and warehouse environment. • Extended periods of computer work for documentation and tracking • Productivity – repair throughput, labor efficiency, units repaired, processed • Quality – First time pass rate, repeat failure rate, maintain repair records, documentation • Technical performance – RCA, Diagnostic accuracy, training & certification compliance, and sustainability • Safety Compliance – Maintain a safe work environment, safe work practices, and zero safety incidents • Leadership & Employee Development – Training Compliance, Team Matrix, Engagement and Retention • Previous team leadership, supervisory, or management experience. • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory and practical application. • Experie
