https://fama.uark.edu/ Summary of Job Duties: The Coordinator of Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of building facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, managing vendor relationships, monitoring building systems, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Additionally, the Coordinator supervises a custodial team, providing leadership, assisting in the hiring process and guidance to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance operations. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma • At least four years of experience in housekeeping, custodial maintenance, or related area • At least two years in a supervisor or leadership experience • Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications: • At least six years of custodial experience in the commercial/corporate industry • At least four years in a supervisor or leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures • Knowledge of custodial and maintenance practices and techniques • Knowledge of materials and equipment used in custodial/maintenance work • Ability to determine maintenance and custodial needs of building facilities • Ability to maintain records and compile reports related to custodial and maintenance activities • Ability to supervise a medium to large-sized staff of subordinate supervisors, custodial workers, and semi-skilled maintenance repairmen • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products such as email, spreadsheets
