The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. About the Role The Content & Communications Lead is an individual contributor responsible for shaping the strategic direction and operating model for content management, governance, and business partner communications across Partners Online (POL), Target's digital portal for business partners. In this role, you'll partner closely with Product, User Experience (UX), Technology, Operations, and internal business stakeholders to establish scalable content and communication practices that deliver a consistent, connected experience for Target's business partners. You'll influence enterprise decisions by establishing editorial, metadata, and governance best practices that improve content quality, discoverability, and usability across Partners Online. As Target continues to modernize its digital content ecosystem, you'll champion AI-enabled content operations and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen editorial consistency, simplify content management, and enhance how business partners access information.

About the Team The BPX Communication & Engagement team manages the content and communications experience or Partners Online. More than 200,000 business partners worldwide rely on Partners Online to access the policies, processes, tools, training, resources, and communications they need to successfully do business with Target. The team partners with business stakeholders across the enterprise to develop, manage, and publish content that supports every aspect of doing business with Target. By establishing content standards, metadata, governance practices, and scalable publishing processes, the team ensures content is accurate, accessible, easy to navigate, and consistent across the business partner experience.

Key Responsibilities • Establish the strategic direction for the BPX Content function by defining the operating model, editorial framework, and best practices while providing functional leadership, coaching, and guidance to drive consistent, high-quality outcomes. • Shape and evolve enterprise content management and governance across Partners Online (POL), including content lifecycle management, editorial standards, metadata, taxonomy, information architecture, and content quality. • Define the strategy and governance framework for business partner communications, ensuring communications are audience-focused, well-timed, and aligned with product guidance, knowledge content, and business objectives. • Influence and consult with Product, User Experience (UX), Technology, Operations, Legal, and internal business stakeholders to improve content experiences, support digital initiatives, and drive adoption of enterprise content and communication standards. • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging data, stakeholder feedback, AI-enabled tools, and scalable content practices to improve discoverability, consistency, operational efficiency, and the overall business partner experience. Build organizational capability by establishing repeatable processes, documenting best practices, fostering cross-functional partnerships, coaching team members, and enabling consistent execution across the Content function. • Lead multiple initiatives simultaneously, proactively solving complex problems, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and delivering results in a fast-paced, evolving environment. • Consistently demonstrate behaviors aligned to Target's values of Inclusivity, Connection, and Drive. • Other duties as assigned Note: Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Qualifications Required • 8+ years of experience in content management, content strategy, content governance, communications, knowledge management, information architecture, digital product, or related field. • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise content or communications initiatives in a highly matrixed organization. • Experience developing governance frameworks, editorial standards, or scalable content operations. • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence without direct authority. • Experience working with enterprise content management systems (CMS), metadata, taxonomy, and structured content. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution and continuous improvement. • Strong mentorship and coaching abilities. • A creative mind, with a practical outlook and unwavering ability to go with the flow.

Preferred • Experience partnering with Product, UX, Engineering, Legal, and Operations teams to improve digital content experiences. • Experience implementing AI-assisted content creation, editorial workflows, or content operations. • Experience with Contentful or a similar enterprise content management platform. • Experience leading organizational change or digital transformation initiatives. • Experience developing communications strategies for external audiences or bu
