Compensation The Service Oklahoma (SOK) mission is to ease the stress in navigating government services by providing a best-in-class customer experience. We are Oklahomans helping Oklahomans by providing driver license and motor vehicle services on behalf of the state.
This position has an annual rate of $47,379.07.
The Service Oklahoma offers a generous benefits package, including a benefits allowance to off-set the costs of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. The Service Oklahoma will match up to 7% towards an employee’s Defined Contribution retirement plan. Our employees receive 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, which increases with every 5 years of service, and 15 days of paid sick leave. Additionally, employees will receive longevity payments based on their years of service with the State of Oklahoma.
Job Description POSITION SUMMARY A Compliance Officer is assigned responsibilities related to issuing, reinstating, or suspending Oklahoma driver licenses and state identification cards.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by the employee assigned to this position. It should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all required duties, responsibilities and skills. • Conducts driver license examinations (visual, written, and road examinations), and inspections to determine eligibility and qualification for driver’s licenses or state identification cards in compliance with state and federal regulations and in accordance with the guidelines established to protect the citizens of the United States and the State of Oklahoma. • Provides assistance to customers in the explanation of outstanding fines, fees, and documentation required to reinstating suspended or revoked driving privileges or applying for modified driving privileges. • Reinstates suspended or revoked driving privileges in accordance with Oklahoma law. • Upon request, assists the Legal Division in gathering information regarding driving records. • Provides input on potential changes to driver license laws, financial responsibility laws and other statutes affecting driving privileges. • Lead – Provided training to lower-level staff at their assigned location or other near-by locations. • Lead – Reviews timesheets each week for assigned team; identifies timesheet issues, notifies employees to make corrections; approves timesheets when they are accurately submitted within the weekly deadline provided.* • Other duties as assigned.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS Officer • The Compliance Officer is an advance-level position where employees are assigned responsibilities as a lead worker or team leader. Duties include planning and coordinating work activities, training staff, and managing and creating scheduled reports. • The Compliance Officer is assigned work at the full performance level and are responsible for independently performing duties associated with interviews and appeals concerning suspensions and revocations of driving privileges.
Lead • The Compliance Lead is assigned responsibilities as the subject-matter-expert where they shall perform work in completing various compliance functions associated with driver’s licenses and state identification cards with a greater degree of complexity. • The Compliance Lead is assigned the direct supervisory responsibility of an assigned section of the staff within the division and will have the responsibility for the oversight and performance for all designated essential functions related to the position.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE The preferred minimum qualifications for this position are: Officer • A Bachelor’s Degree in any field • OR four (4) years of experience in driver education or safety, driver's license examining; or a similar field • OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Lead • A Bachelor’s Degree in any field, plus at least one (1) year in driver education or safety, driver's license examining; or a similar field • OR five (5) years of experience in driver education or safety, driver's license examining; or a similar field • OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS • The schedule for this position may vary and require flexibility, including some early or late shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime, based on the needs of the agency. • The work location may vary depending on the needs of the agency.
• This position may require occasional travel. The selected candidate must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel. State vehicles may be available, but reliable transportation may be required for local travel.
