About this role
Citi is seeking a Commercial Cards Client Executive Lead at the Senior Vice President level to own and grow a portfolio of strategic global client relationships while leading a high-performing team of Client Executives within Citi's Commercial Cards business. In this senior role, you will sit at the intersection of client strategy, commercial growth, and team leadership — directly shaping the performance and direction of one of Citi's most impactful client-facing functions. Your work will influence client outcomes, revenue results, and the professional development of the team around you.
Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Commercial Cards Client Executives, setting clear performance expectations through team KPIs that cover client engagement, deal pipeline activity, and revenue outcomes. • Serve as the senior relationship owner for a portfolio of key global clients, acting as their primary advocate and ensuring consistent satisfaction, retention, and commercial growth. • Partner with Global Solution Sales and Banking Relationship Coverage teams to identify revenue expansion opportunities and execute cross-sell strategies across both personal and team-managed accounts. • Work closely with Commercial Card functional groups including (but not limited to) Product, Service, Finance, Legal, Risk Management and Fraud. • Manage the full contract lifecycle for renewals and incremental deals, including building pricing models, leading client negotiations, and finalizing agreements. • Monitor and ensure deal ramp in accordance with booked deal values. • Coach team members through client meetings, escalations, and deal execution, providing senior-level guidance that builds individual capability and raises overall team performance. • Conduct regular spend and revenue forecasting for assigned accounts, and oversee the team's forecasting activities to ensure profitability is accurately tracked and reported. • Ensure team activities, CRM documentation, and client programs remain fully aligned with Citi's governance, risk, and compliance standards — including KYC and AML requirements. • Prepare and present portfolio performance reports and strategic updates for senior leadership, translating client and market insights into actionable business recommendations.
Required Qualifications & Skills • 10 or more years of experience in client relationship management, relationship sales, or business development within commercial cards, commercial payments, or a closely related financial services environment. • Demonstrated people leadership experience, with a history of managing team performance through clearly defined KPIs and structured coaching frameworks. • Ability to own and grow complex, senior-level client relationships across large, globally operating organizations. • Advanced analytical capability, with hands-on experience building revenue forecasting models and tracking commercial performance metrics. • Strong negotiation and commercial acumen, with experience leading end-to-end contract and pricing processes. • Clear and persuasive communicator, able to influence senior client stakeholders, internal partners, and team members with credibility and precision. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant commercial environment. • 10%-20% travel will be required.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications • Master's degree in a relevant business or financial discipline. • Familiarity with CRM platforms and experience embedding data-driven pipeline management practices within a client-facing team. • Background in capital markets, institutional banking, or broader financial advisory services, providing additional context for client strategy conversations. • Experience leading cross-functional projects spanning product, technology, onboarding, or service delivery teams. • Understanding of Commercial Cards and how product’s P&L functions at an industry level.
