Position Summary Oversees and coordinates complex and multi-center clinical research studies and provides comprehensive experience and expertise in the overall planning, conduct and evaluation of clinical research. Performs mentorship and direction to the research program and team(s) incorporating mission focused principles of ethics, integrity, and collaboration and implementation. Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to maintain continuity of care and human subject protection with a commitment to research integrity.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• May perform duties inclusive of those delegated to a Clinical Research Coordinator III and/or Clinical Research Supervisor. • Works under the Principal Investigator’s (PI) guidance to meet the research objectives of the project(s). Provides oversight and coordinates complex and/or multi-site clinical research. • Utilizes critical thinking in the management of clinical trials. • May be assigned to special projects for the department’s/division’s research program (i.e., educational, policy development, written procedures, compliance strategies, development of standard operating procedures, auditing/monitoring of trials being conducted, etc.). • May assist in providing supervision to members of the research team including training of new staff; serving as point of reference for current research staff; staff scheduling and performance feedback. • Utilizes elements of project management to monitor ongoing financial state, patient recruitment milestones, and personnel resources necessary to conduct the research. May assist financial and grant administrators with federal and sponsor funded trials. • Researches and recommends new methods and procedures to maintain standards and improve quality. • May order supplies needed for the research projects and research group. • Investigator Initiated Research Project Specific Tasks • Acts as primary liaison to Principal Investigator (PI) to develop plans for investigator-initiated research projects; prepares budgets and assists in preparing grant proposals to sponsoring agencies; writes or assists in writing initial study protocol and instructional manuals; preparation of amendments to protocols and/or modification to study design, as appropriate. • Reviews journals, abstracts, and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous studies to aid in the planning of new studies. • Prepares study progress reports and data safety monitoring reports for PI and funding agencies. • May assist in the interpretation of study data and results; may prepare oral and written reports and presentations and/or assist with preparation of manuscripts for publication.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education. Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross Work Experience: Clinical Research (4 Years), Lead Position (1 Year) Skills: Not Applicable Driver's License: A driver's license is not required for this position.
More About This Job Required Qualifications: • Basic Life Support certification • Online Basic Support certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the Basic Life Support requirements. • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.

Salary Range $64,300.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
