Position Summary / Career Interest: Capital Project Manager manages a diverse project team including internal clinical staff, operations support teams, external consultants, vendors and contractors. The Capital Project Manager will manage several projects simultaneously and assist in the development of project plans including goals, scope, schedule and budget. The Capital Project Manager is also responsible to incorporate input from all appropriate team members and consultants. The Capital Project Manager will be responsible for project budgets and will provide summaries and progress of project schedules and budgets.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions • Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal relationships, technical and organizational skills • Demonstrates and maintains excellent communications skills, and a pleasant attitude. • Maintains and protects confidentially of all Hospital information, including Patient Health Information (PHI), Peer Review(s) and other attorney-client information. • Inquires, assembles and documents all necessary information prior making a project decision • Conducts active evaluations and shares determinations on project specific issues • Exercises sound judgment and decision-making to ensure successful flow of the project • Demonstrates accountability for own actions and decisions • Willingly accepts ownership for decisions and actions made as part of a team • Demonstrates dependability in the performance of the job specific position • Manages own time efficiently • Manages the time of others efficiently • Applies and aligns actions with established Corporate Responsibility Program • Applies and aligns actions with established Hospital Corporate Policies • Applies and aligns actions with established Departmental Policies and Procedures • Applies and aligns actions with established policies for JCAHO, CMS, KDHE, State of Kansas, Fire Marshall, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies • Applies and aligns actions with established Hospital policies for ILSM, ICRA, Hazardous Materials, Safety and all other risk and safety policies • Applies, aligns and re-aligns actions for individual job performance improvement • Applies, aligns and re-aligns actions for departmental performance improvement • Demonstrates good judgment in the efficient, cost-effective management of projects • Demonstrates good judgment in the development of an efficient and cost-effective project scope of work • Demonstrates good judgment in the efficient, cost-effective deployment of project specific funds • Demonstrates good judgment applying industry standard design and construction solutions appropriate for the facility, and in accordance with Hospital Administration expectations • Evaluates, considers and identifies learning, development and training needs • Makes judgment on a proposed course of action based on identified needs • Provides consideration, evaluation and determinations as part of a team environment • Evaluates, considers and identifies new ideas that contribute to the department • Evaluates, considers and identifies concerns about the department • Considers decision points within the department • Supports a patient centered environment • Communicates courteously and clearly with all contractors, consultants, customers, patients & visitors • Communicates courteously and clearly within the department, and with all other Hospital Employees • Establishes good public relations with departments, administration and outside consultants • Works collaboratively with others to achieve successful project outcomes • Willingly and actively participates as a team member • Applies position of Project Manager to efficiently and effectively direct the management of projects, while achieving and maintaining the cooperation of others • Models a positive attitude within the organization • Respectfully, courteously and accurately conveys and Hospital resources • Communicates learning, development and training needs to Director • Communicates a proposed course of action based on identified need to Director • Demonstrates a friendly, cooperative and positive attitude with others • Provides positive, professional communication with all • Utilizes service excellence skills in assisting all internal and external customers of the Hospital, and of the Department • Works cooperatively with members of the project team, both internal (consultants, contractors, etc.) and external (other hospital departments, etc) • Works cooperatively with others in the Hospital Construction Department to achieve departmental goals and initiatives • Communicates concerns to the Director • Thoughtfully contributes to the discussion and
