The Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned commodities to support manufacturing, engineering, and business operations. This role ensures cost-effective procurement, supplier performance, and risk mitigation while aligning with corporate goals and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement commodity strategies using total cost of ownership principles.

• Lead RFx processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.

• Monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers in alignment with corporate procurement policies.

• Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery metrics.

• Facilitate supplier risk assessments including cybersecurity and financial health.

• Partner with engineering, operations, and finance to align procurement with product development and production needs.

• Support new product introductions and cost reduction initiatives.

• Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.

• Maintain accurate procurement records and contract metadata in ERP and sourcing platforms.

• Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings.

• Lead initiatives to standardize and streamline procurement workflows.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.

• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.

• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and sourcing tools.

• Knowledge of global supply chain dynamics and risk mitigation strategies.

• Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPM, APICS) are a plus

• Ability to read and understand blueprints/technical drawings and specifications desired

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, on occasion.

Preferred Attributes: • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.

• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage conflict.

• High attention to detail and urgency in resolving supply issues.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in ambiguous situations.

Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.    Salary Range: $62,800.00-$83,700.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
