About this role

Business Director, Analytics and Transformation (Remote - Eligible)

At Capital One, we are relentless innovators with a proven track record of transforming customers’ experiences and the financial services industry. We’re delivering best-in-class innovation so that our more than 100 million customers can manage their finances with ease.

We consider ourselves the bank a technology company would build—empowered to use artificial intelligence (from machine learning to generative AI) to transform everyday banking into real-time, intelligent products that help customers improve their financial well-being. We’re all-in on the cloud and are a leader in the adoption of open source. We build our own products and release them with a speed and agility that allows us to get new customer experiences to market quickly. We’re going boldly where no bank has gone before. And, as a founder-led company, we are centered in our mission to help customers succeed.

The Role | General Responsibilities We’re seeking a Director, Analytics and Transformation, to support strategic priorities for the Consumer and Developer Experience (CDX) leadership team, this is an exciting space with diverse product responsibilities. The Consumer and Developer Experience (CDX) organization drives the critical platforms that power world-class digital engagement for our customers and best-in-class tools for the developers who build them. Our diverse portfolio spans the Capital One mobile app, advanced marketing and personalization engines, AI-driven platforms that transform how we build software, and essential enterprise risk and supplier capabilities. By unifying these consumer, developer, and enterprise operations, CDX accelerates our ability to modernize core systems, strengthen the company's risk posture, and deliver seamless experiences at massive scale.   The Director will join a horizontal product and strategy team that supports priorities across CDX. The product and strategy team serves as an internal engine for both vision and strategic alignment, occupying a unique space at the intersection of strategic advisory and product creation. We operate with the rigor of top-tier consulting to solve the organization’s hardest strategic questions, drive the annual planning process, and align our long-term priorities. At the same time, we are builders: we act as an innovation lab, developing prototypes and partnering closely with product and engineering teams to translate conceptual visions into tangible, scaled digital experiences. We are looking for a leader who thrives in this duality—someone who is equally energized by big-picture questions about where the world is going, thorny problems that require a strategic mindset and close partnership with product and tech teams, and hands-on building.    This Director will focus particularly on two priorities for the team: business intelligence and analytics, and organizational transformation. Specifically, the Director will: • Partner with CDX leaders to define the business strategies for their respective areas

• Tackle thorny strategic questions throughout the business, using a consulting-style model

• Lead priority strategic initiatives for CDX, such as AI transformation

• Support the organization’s intelligence unit, providing analytics, landscape assessments, thematic deep dives, and more to help the organization see around corners and anticipate headwinds and tailwinds

• Set the vision for long-term product innovation, including partnering with engineering to deliver product prototypes

• Lead a fantastic team of strategy and product people leaders and ICs, investing heavily in their development and creating a pipeline of talent for the organization

• Obsess about internal and external customer satisfaction by establishing trusted, close touch relationships with key stakeholders throughout the company

• Cultivate a dynamic, customer centric and mission oriented Product culture, fostering collaboration, developing talent

• Role model AI adoption by inventing and spreading solutions that improve work efficiency, quality, and fun

The Person The successful candidate will be a great strategic problem solver with a highly collaborative working style. They will excel at building relationships across organizational boundaries and using their strategy toolkit to drive consensus and impact. This leader should have the ability to work through ambiguity with an owner’s mindset and to build product strategy and processes that scale and adapt with growth and market shifts. This leader will be in an exciting position to drive business results, shape organizational culture, and impact both the associate and customer experiences.

Specifically, the Senior Director will have: • Exceptional strategy and strategic problem-solving skills, with a record of answering hard questions in ambiguous areas

• A strong product orientation, including a record of understanding customers’ needs and working backwards to deliver experiences and solutions that deliver results for the customer and the business

• An innovation mindset, characterized by a future orientation, the ability to set a vision, and a willingness to push boundaries

• A record of outstanding people leadership, with a style that is collaborative, inspiring, and supportive

• Exceptional relationship-building skills that result in trusted partnerships at all organizational levels, across organizational boundaries

• Ability to establish credibility with the company’s most senior leaders and with colleagues from different disciplines (e.g., data scientists, P&L owners, designers, engineers)

• Intellectual curiosity: an interest in understanding and experimenting with new leading edge technologies, organizational models, and ways of thinking

• Demonstrated ability to employ judgment and experience to make rapid and complex decision

• Highly effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
