Title and Summary

Business Development Analyst, International Institutions

Overview

The International Institutions (I.I.) vertical is part of Mastercard’s Public Sector organization and focuses on building strategic and commercial partnerships with multilateral development banks (MDBs), development finance institutions (DFIs), and other international organizations, including the World Bank Group, International Finance Corporation (IFC), European Bank for Reconstructive Development (EBRD), European Investment Bank (EIB), and similar institutions. The team aligns Mastercard’s capabilities—including payments, cross-border services, data and analytics, cybersecurity, financial inclusion, SME solutions, and commercial enablement—with the priorities, programs, and investment agendas of these institutions.

Mastercard seeks a business development analyst to support the broader growth agenda for International Institutions, helping operationalize partnership opportunities across priority sectors and regions. The position will contribute to stakeholder coordination and execution of priority initiatives such as the strategic $500m Global Settlement Risk Facility. You will work across markets and stakeholders in regional public sector teams, account management, product, legal, risk, compliance, finance, and operations teams for execution and ongoing management.

Role • Business Development Strategy & Pipeline Support • Support the development and management of a strategic partnership pipeline across MDBs, DFIs, and international organizations, including opportunity identification, prioritization, tracking, and follow-up. • Conduct market, partner, and sector analysis to inform business development strategy, account planning, and go-to-market priorities across regions. • Project Management & Cross-Functional Execution • Manage workplans, timelines, action trackers, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and progress against milestones. • Serve as a cross-functional integrator across internal teams to support implementation readiness, governance, process design, and issue resolution for strategic partnership initiatives. • Portfolio Monitoring, Reporting & Insights • Maintain pipeline, partnership, and initiative reporting, including status updates, KPIs, risks, dependencies, and decision points for leadership visibility. • Identify process gaps, operational risks, or opportunities to improve scalability, partner engagement, and commercial impact across the International Institutions portfolio.

All About You • You are a strong collaborator, analytical thinker, and problem solver who is enthusiastic about creating meaningful, market-differentiated value propositions. • You are self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables in parallel. • Strong analytical, research, and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear insights, structured plans, and executive-ready materials. • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to support senior-level briefings, proposals, and partner-facing materials. • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following: o Business development, partnerships, strategy, consulting, project management, or commercial operations. o Public sector, financial services, development finance, MDBs/DFIs, international organizations, or emerging markets. o Payments, fintech, digital transformation, financial inclusion, SME development, cross-border services, data and analytics, or cybersecurity. o Proposal development, account planning, pipeline management, stakeholder coordination, or implementation support. • Preferred Qualifications o Experience working with or supporting partnerships involving multilateral development banks, development finance institutions, government agencies, or international organizations. o Familiarity with Mastercard capabilities, public-private partnership models, or commercial partnership structures. o Comfort working across global and regional teams and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
