Business Unit Overview: Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing (BXMA) manages $101 billion across a diversified set of businesses. We strive to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for our clients across market cycles. Our strategies include Absolute Return, Multi-Strategy, Total Portfolio Management, and Public Real Assets. Job Description: Within BXMA, the Product Management team sits at the intersection of the investment and client-facing organizations and serves as the firm’s center of excellence for investment product content. The team partners closely with various Investment teams, Client Investment Strategy, and Institutional Client Solutions (ICS) to shape how our strategies are understood, positioned, and delivered to the market.
Product Management is responsible for the development, governance, and continuous enhancement of all client- and prospect-facing investment materials — including marketing presentations, portfolio and performance reviews, recurring and customized reporting, due diligence questionnaires, and responses to analytical and product-related inquiries.
The team’s mandate spans strategy, system, and execution — from shaping how investment products are positioned to the market, to operating a best-in-class content and reporting engine, to delivering high-quality outputs at the pace demanded by clients and commercial priorities.
This role will be focused on improving and rebuilding our data infrastructure, which is the foundation of all the content we create, whether it’s qualitative or quantitative. We are looking for individuals who can understand our business requirements, from how our products work, what clients need, and what we as a business want to communicate to clients, and can design, build, and maintain complex data processes starting from raw data tables and ending with client-friendly visuals and reports. The ideal candidate is excited about solving thorny data problems: who can dissect and diagram complex Excel-based processes and rebuild them from scratch using best practices and tools (SQL, Python, Power Query). The successful candidate will also partner with and oversee developers to build production-ready code to automate reports.
Responsibilities: • Dig into manual data processes involving large Excel models and rebuild them entirely from scratch using best practices and tools (SQL, Python)
• Have a strong understanding of business needs, financial concepts, the investment landscape, and client needs, and track record of translating them into technical requirements
• Communicate effectively and summarize issues with both highly technical developers and non-technical front office business people
• Develop new data models and tools in partnership with technology teams that the business can use for automation and enhanced analytics
• Visualize, design, and implement new business processes and data workflows, translating stakeholder business requirements into actionable projects.
• Oversee software developer resources to implement solutions
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound professional judgment, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and time management skills, the successful candidate must meet the following qualifications • 3+ years’ experience in a quantitative or data-focused field, ideally involving financial or investment concepts
• Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.
• Successful track record working with databases, data structures, and data analysis tools.
• Experience with programming languages preferred. (SQL, Python)
• Strong Excel skills. Experience with VBA/Power Query is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Inquisitive and data driven mindset, with experience utilizing data to solve real-world business problems.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
• Bridge the gap between non-technical business users and technical staff.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• (Preferred) Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in quantitative or data-oriented field.
The duties and responsibilities described here are not exhaustive and additional assignments, duties, or responsibilities may be required of this position. Assignments, duties, and responsibilities may be changed at any time, with or without notice, by Blackstone in its sole discretion.
Expected annual base salary range:
