  Summary      Launch Your Software Career at CAE — Shape the Future of Mission Ready Training   Kickstart your engineering career at CAE, where we build world class simulation technology that prepares pilots and maintainers for the toughest real world missions. As an Associate Software Engineer , you’ll work on the software that powers our high fidelity flight and mission simulators — adding new capabilities, modernizing existing systems, and helping deliver the realism that keeps pilots mission ready.      Essential Duties and Responsibilities      Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.     What You’ll Do:   • Build real software that matters — developing features across the full software lifecycle.   

• Team up with engineers from multiple disciplines to turn ideas into working solutions.   

• Debug and optimize code to improve performance, efficiency, and reliability.   

• Participate in code reviews, learn best practices, and grow your engineering toolkit.   

• Stay curious — explore new technologies and bring fresh thinking to complex software challenges.  

  Qualifications and Education Requirements      What You Bring:   • A BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).   

• Strong communication, teamwork, and the confidence to collaborate with engineers at all levels.   

• A mindset built on ownership, accountability, and the drive to keep learning.   

• Sharp analytical thinking and problem‑solving instincts.   

• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access; U.S. citizenship required.   

• Willingness to support occasional overtime, shift work, weekend work, and CONUS travel.  

• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.    

  Preferred Skills      • Experience developing, testing, and debugging software — via coursework, projects, or internships.   

• Familiarity with tools like GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, or Atlassian (school or project experience counts!).

Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.      •  Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.    

    Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.        Work Environment      • Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.  

• Must be able to work overtime on and off-shifts as required.  

• The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.  

  Physical Demands      The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.      • Must be able to perform normal office duties (e.g. sitting for long periods at a desk)      

• Must be able to travel CONUS/OCONUS via car and airplane      

• Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator
