About this role
ASSOCIATE PRODUCT MANAGER, BENEFITS
ABOUT NIURAL
Niural is a next-generation PEO redefining what benefits administration looks like for modern businesses. Our platform goes beyond traditional benefits administration (benadmin). We've built an industry-leading system powered by API-first carrier integrations and an embedded AI LLM that supports smarter benefits decisions for employees and employers alike. Our agentic AI doesn't just surface insights, it executes tasks, automates workflows, and removes friction from the benefits experience end to end.
We're VC-backed and scaling fast, having raised a $31M Series A led by Marathon Management Partners, with participation from M13, Inspired Capital, and Newform Capital. This is a pivotal moment to join Niural. We're building the infrastructure and the team that will define the future of PEO.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an Associate Product Manager, Benefits to sit at the intersection of benefits operations, product, and engineering. Reporting to and partnering closely with our Head of Benefits Product, you'll help drive execution of the benefits product roadmap and special initiatives from discovery through launch.
This is a high-impact role with a clear path to full Product Manager. You'll serve as the domain expert who helps translate benefits complexity into requirements our engineering team can build, and you'll be hands-on with the platform day to day. If you've been operating as a product owner, technical analyst, or APM and want real ownership within a fast-moving product team, this role is for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Product Delivery and Execution
- Partner closely with the Head of Benefits Product to manage execution of the product roadmap and special initiatives
- Drive product workstreams end to end: discovery, scoping, delivery, launch, and iteration
- Write clear user stories, PRDs, and acceptance criteria that engineering can build from on day one
- Support day-to-day coordination between BenOps and engineering, helping translate operational pain points into actionable tickets and surfacing engineering constraints back to the ops team
- Lead cross-functional project delivery for platform enhancements, integration builds, and new carrier onboarding
Platform Ownership
- Own the day-to-day health of our proprietary benadmin platform
- Configure and QA system setup for open enrollment, plan builds, eligibility rules, and carrier connections
- Identify and troubleshoot data and configuration issues proactively
Benefits Data and Integrations
- Own eligibility data flows between the benadmin platform and carrier portals
- Ensure accurate, timely data transmission to carriers and vendors via both API-first integrations and file-based connections (EDI 834, flat files, SFTP feeds)
- Monitor and resolve enrollment discrepancies, carrier feed errors, and HRIS sync issues
Analytics and Reporting
- Build and maintain reporting on enrollment trends, data quality, utilization, and operational KPIs
- Surface insights that support product decisions, cost management, and carrier negotiations
Support and Enablement
- Provide technical support to Benefit Operations and internal teams during open enrollment and throughout the plan year
- Document processes and create training materials for system users
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- 4+ years experience in a product role driving initiatives end to end
- Exposure to AI/LLM-powered product features
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to write clear PRDs, user stories, and process documentation
- Comfort with product tools (Jira, Linear, Figma, Notion, or similar)
- Analytical mindset with experience building reports and using data to drive decisions
- Strong communicator who can bridge the gap between benefits operations, product, and engineering
- Track record of shipping in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Preferred / Bonus
- Experience in benefits technology, benefits administration, or HR tech
- Understanding of benefits eligibility, enrollment workflows, and carrier data requirements
- PEO experience, especially with proprietary PEO platforms
- Working knowledge of HRIS/payroll platforms (Rippling, Deel, Gusto or similar)
- Familiarity with API-first SaaS product development
