About the Opportunity

Position Summary: The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences seek a highly innovative and experienced 52-week non-tenure track (NTT) faculty member to serve as Associate/ Full Teaching Professor and Director of Graduate Programs, acting as the academic and administrative leader for the School's M.S. and Ph.D. programs. In addition to the typical faculty workload of teaching and scholarship, this role’s service focus includes advancing, scaling, and modernizing graduate education (in all its modalities: on ground, online synchronous or asynchronous, hybrid; and across the global university system of network campuses), with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary areas such as biomedical sciences, AI-driven drug discovery, biopharma and biotech, translational therapeutics, and other emerging fields. The position will also provide the governance[KC1.1][CS1.2], oversight and operational rigor required to sustain high-quality curriculum, assessment, and student support/success led by experiential learning and partner-driven collaboration.

The Director will chair the SOPPS M.S. and Ph.D. Committee, advancing the Committee's agenda in response to standing charges and charges assigned by the SOPPS executive committee. The Director will guide the Committee on curriculum development and assessment in alignment with institutional imperatives and the standards of the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), including the development of learning outcomes and application of assessment strategies. In addition to this governance role, the successful candidate will lead strategic growth of the MS and PhD programs across domestic and internation markets, enhance student recruitment and outcomes, and develop industry-aligned curricula that position the School, Department, College, and University as a national leader.

Key Responsibilities: Program Leadership, Governance & Oversight • Serve as the primary academic and administrative lead for graduate programs ensuringe program alignment with institutional, accreditation, and regulatory requirements, including NECHE standards.

• Oversee curriculum governance, updates, and compliance processes related to MS or PhD programs in the school

• Manage program assessment, evaluation, and continuous curriculum improvement processes in collaboration with the M.S./Ph.D. Committee, Program Manager, and the Office of the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and Assessment

• Chair the M.S./Ph.D. Committee, advancing its agenda in response to standing and assigned chargesWork with the M.S./Ph.D. faculty and leadership at the Department and School to seek industry collaborations and funding opportunities such as industry-led PhD contracts, training grants, pre-doctoral fellowships, and other funding from industry, government and other sources

Curriculum Innovation & Assessment • Propose and develop new market-aligned graduate courses/programs (e.g., AI in drug discovery, cell therapy, immuno-engineering, among others) in collaboration with the strategic vision of the Department and School, and in close collaboration with the Bouvé Dean’s Office and the university’s Innovation Planning and Development and EM Product Launch units

• Lead modernization and scaling of existing and future programs with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary areas such as biomedical sciences, AI- and technology driven integration, biopharma and biotech, translational therapeutics, and other emerging fields

• Ensure appropriate curricular content delivery based on learning modalities (i.e., on ground, online synchronous or asynchronous, hybrid, etc.) and location across the global university system of network campuses

• Integrate experiential learning, industry partnerships, and research-based training

• Guide the M.S./Ph.D. Committee in developing learning outcomes and applying assessment strategies consistent with NECHE standards

• Direct the delivery and annual review of the M.S. and Ph.D. curricula and associated learning-assessment programs

• Develop systems to collect, analyze, and report assessment data drawn from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and experiential partners for accreditation and other tracking needs across the Department, School, College University.

Student Success, Mentoring & Academic Integrity • Oversee student progression, advising structures, and milestone achievement in collaboration with program faculty and staff.

• Ensure timely completion of academic and administrative milestones (e.g., candidacy, graduation)

• Provide graduate-student mentoring and advising

• Serve as an ex officio member of all MS thesis and PhD dissertation committees when not an official member

• Formulate, execute, and oversee remediation plans for student academic misconduct and academic probation in collaboration with the Bouvé Office of Student Services

• Collaborate with student services and global programs, including the Bouvé Graduate Office and the Bouvé Office of Graduate Advising and Student Services, to ensure conformity with NECHE curricular and assessment accreditation standards

Student Recruitment & Enrollment Growth • Partner with enrollment management to develop and execute recruitment strategies

• Evaluate graduate applicants and improve yield from diverse, high-quality candidate pools

• Expand domestic and international pipelines

• Collaborate with the SOPPS Assistant Director of Admissions and the PhD Program Manager to advance graduate-student recruiting efforts, including outreach campaigns, applicant evaluations, admissions offers, and offer follow-up

External Engagement & Partnerships • Build partnerships with industry, biotech, hospitals, research institutions, and other potential partners to strengthen educational programs for students and professional opportunities for alumni
