About This Role Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Operator in Seadrift, Texas.

The purpose of this job is to operate assigned equipment or areas of the plant and perform operations related activities per the work process, utilize chemical manufacturing knowledge and experience to operate and troubleshoot the plant in a safe and efficient manner, work in a team environment where individuals often set priorities and complete work activities with minimal supervision. This is a 24 hour operation and will require the ability to work 12-hour shifts during the day and at night on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities • Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas • Operate and field check process equipment • Monitor process conditions, equipment and control systems • Perform tasks assigned to operations as per a standard task list including field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc. • Ensure operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals • Use troubleshooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems and maintain equipment reliability • Initiate and participate in Root Cause Investigations as required • Coach and train others on plant operations. • Train and certify in multiple process areas to support workgroup needs. • Strong collaborative skills with ability to work with the greater team • Perform immediate response activities and manage unplanned events • Use process knowledge and skills to make improvements in plant performance and Operating Discipline • Use measurements and tools to operate the Plant at optimum conditions • Perform process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance, utilizing appropriate processes and disciplines • Manage multiple and complex plant computer control systems • Perform all duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship. • Operator a forklift/fork truck.

Required Qualifications • High School diploma or equivalent AND one of the following is required. • Associates degree or higher in Process Technology (or related degree). • Dow will consider those with 3 or more years of relevant military experience in lieu of a degree. • 3 or more years of experience as an Operations Technician or similar experience in a Chemical, Oil and Gas or Manufacturing environment.

• Able to work 12 hour rotating shifts. • Able to work overtime as needed. • Able to work night and weekends as required. • Have a current, valid US driver's license. • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Physical Requirements • Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

• Lift, push, and pull. • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting • Stand and walk for extended periods of time • Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders. • Work in tight and closed in spaces. • Work in an area of intense or continuous noise. • Work in an area with hazardous materials • Handle material from drums. • Work at heights greater than or equal to 4 ft off the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.  (This typically accommodates individuals who weigh 285lbs or less)

Skills • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively. • System Procedures: Ability to work with system as a network of procedures which are integrated and designed to carry out the major activity. • Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand and use machines or tools. • Detail-Oriented: Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task, ensuring accuracy and completeness in one’s work. • Time Management: Ability to plan and exercise conscious control of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity. It involves a juggling act of various demands upon a person relating to work, social life, family, hobbies, personal interests, and commitments with the finiteness of time. • Risk Awareness: Ability to understand what risks exist, their potential impacts, and how they are managed.
