We are searching for the best talent for an Associate Director, Global Health Economics Market Access team member for the Johnson & Johnson MedTech Surgery business. This is an end-to-end role with a focus on the Biosurgery business addressing blood management and hemostasis. The position is located at the J&J Office, Raritan, New Jersey.
Purpose: Reporting to the Senior Director, Global & Regional HEMA, Surgery based in New Jersey, USA, the Associate Director Global HEMA Biosurgery will work in close collaboration with Global Strategic Marketing, Research & Development, Medical, Clinical & Preclinical Research, Epidemiology and Regional HEMA partners. The role is responsible for building and executing integrated market access strategies, leveraging health economics and value creation for the adoption and payment of Biosurgery MedTech innovation. This is an important role that will: (i) shape the market access strategies that include, but not limited to, assessing market access needs/trends, (ii) influence the business strategies to leverage market access considerations in the respective therapeutic areas, and, (iii) develop and execute required market access and evidence of value strategies to optimize market access, technology adoption and commercial success.
You will be responsible for : • Lead and guide global and regional cross-functional new technology innovation (NPI) teams on critical strategic market access assessment and requirements for optimizing prioritized US and global market commercialization. • Proactive partnering with Regional HEMA (RHEMA), Global Strategic Marketing, and respective cross-functional teams, namely Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, R&D, to optimise NPI Target Product Profiles (TPP). • Partner to capture regional teams Health Technology Assessment (HTA) strategy and execution to generate coded coverage reimbursement aligned to all Biosurgery technology and associated procedures, obliging the business’ financial metrics. • Lead and guide global cross-functional teams on evidentiary requirements to oblige prioritized market access with payment from all payers for Surgeon adoption of MedTech innovation aligned to patient treatment. • Lead and manage research activities that include, but are not limited to burden of illness, retrospective database studies, creation of global economic models, development of value messaging, patient-reported outcomes development and analysis, interpretation of economic, QoL endpoints and results. • Proactively collaborate with RHEMA and respective cross-functional partners internally to execute global economic and clinical real-world evidence (RWE) generation (e.g., retrospective payer database, EMR studies, time-and-motion studies, quality improvement analyses). • Lead dissemination and training on evidence generation, evidentiary analysis and economic tools. • Partner with Regional and local HEMA and commercial leaders to engage externally with market hospital administrators, surgeons & surgical societies to identify evidence that will demonstrate key market specific clinical, procedural and economic value of MedTech Biosurgery products. • Lead and guide the development of Global HEMA materials and economic tool templates for RHEMA & local teams to customize with a focus on customer-facing materials to support value proposition, value creation, adoption and payment of J&J MedTech’s Surgery products. • Foster a collaborative team culture ensuring alignment with the Canada, APAC, EMEA and LATAM regions cross-functional and commercial teams across all of Surgery’s platforms.
Qualifications / Requirements: Required Education • Certified advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD, MHA, MBA) in a healthcare-related field; health economics, outcomes research or related field is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Minimum of 8-10+ or more years of experience in the healthcare industry, MedTech preferred. • Demonstrated acumen in developing and executing market access strategies for both access and adoption of innovative technology within the surgical procedural sector. • Demonstrated ability and experience working successfully
