The Opportunity Galderma seeks an experienced compliance investigator and monitoring specialist to take a leadership role in the continuous development of Galderma’s U.S. Investigations and Monitoring program. The Associate Director, Compliance Investigations & Monitoring will report directly to the Head of U.S. Compliance and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the investigations and monitoring program. This role is integral to the organization and serves as a key member of the Ethics & Compliance team, helping to drive a robust speak-up culture, proactive risk identification, and effective remediation .
Key Responsibilities Lead U.S. Compliance Investigations (50%) • Expected outcomes: Timely, consistent, fair, well-documented investigations, appropriate conclusions, root-cause considerations, and actionable remediation recommendations.
• How performed: Own program framework; coordinate with HR, Legal, and key partners; set intake, triage, scoping, documentation, and closure standards; conduct investigations (data review, interviews, evidence assessment); lead investigations readouts with senior leadership; recommend remediation.
• How performed: Independently handle varied-complexity matters; partner with Compliance Business Partners and cross-functional stakeholders to interpret policies and implement remediation (policy updates, training, coaching, enhanced monitoring).
Develop Investigations Program (procedures, documentation, and training) (15%) • Expected outcomes: Standardized, scalable investigations capability across involved functions; improved consistency and defensibility of case files.
• How performed: Establish operating procedures and protocols aligned with Code of Conduct/global standards; develop templates and guidance; train cross-functional colleagues on investigations process, documentation, and case management expectations.
Design and continuously improve U.S. compliance monitoring program (20%) • Expected outcomes: Risk-based monitoring coverage of high-risk activities; early detection of issues and prevention of repeat findings.
• How performed: Build and execute monitoring plans (field rides; speaker programs; advisory boards; trainings; congresses; in-market promotional/educational events); refine methodologies and sampling.
• Identify areas of emerging risks, anomalies, and trends to prioritize areas for transactional and data-driven monitoring and analytics
Reporting, dashboards, governance alignment, and continuous improvement (15%) • Expected outcomes: Clear leadership visibility into metrics, trends, and remediation progress; alignment with global E&C expectations.
• How performed: Develop dashboards/reporting packages; deliver periodic monitoring reports to leadership/committees; support targeted reviews; promote strong ethics and compliance culture.
Qualifications • Juris Doctor (JD) or in-house compliance investigations experience at a pharmaceutical or medical device company.
• 8-12 years of experience advising a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences company on compliance matters (in-house or law firm).
• Significant experience conducting internal compliance investigations and managing investigations programs (intake, triage, case handling, reporting, remediation).
• Expertise and significant experience advising on U.S. healthcare compliance for prescription products and devices.
• Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations and therapeutic areas, and of laws/regulations/industry guidance relevant to commercialization (including Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, FDCA, OIG/DOJ guidance, PhRMA Code, U.S. state and local marketing compliance laws, and relevant enforcement actions).
• Demonstrated experience designing and executing monitoring programs and activities, including field-based monitoring and data-driven analytics.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of market dynamics and business culture impacts.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills (large datasets, trend identification, “big picture”).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills; effective with senior leadership and stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment; strong project management and organizational skills.
