Role Overview As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful execution of assigned HVAC controls projects from planning through closeout. Working alongside the Project Manager and field teams, you will help coordinate schedules, documentation, customer communication, subcontractors, commissioning activities, and project financial follow-up while keeping work aligned with scope, quality, and schedule expectations.
Key Responsibilities • Support the Project Manager in coordinating assigned control systems projects from kickoff through closeout.
• Assist with project planning, schedule follow-up, progress tracking, and issue escalation.
• Coordinate communication with customers, subcontractors, technicians, designers, and internal support teams.
• Help monitor project costs, billings, collections, change orders, and cash flow.
• Support hardware design, system programming, installation activities, and system and network commissioning as needed.
• Assist with material selection, ordering, vendor follow-up, delivery schedules, and budget tracking.
• Help prepare and maintain as-built documentation, commissioning records, manuals, and warranty support materials.
• Support site-specific training and handoff activities for owners and operators.
• Track action items and help resolve project risks, delays, and scope changes in a timely manner.
• Maintain strong working relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and field personnel.
How You Will Do It • Own your assigned tasks with accountability, safety, integrity, and a strong focus on quality.
• Stay close to the worksite and the customer so potential obstacles are identified early and resolved quickly.
• Use clear follow-up, accurate documentation, and disciplined change management to improve project results every day.
• Work as one team across project management, field operations, subcontractors, and support functions to keep work moving smoothly.
• Communicate technical and business updates clearly so the right people have the information they need to act.
• Track details carefully across schedule, materials, commissioning, and financial status to support timely decisions.
• Support close coordination during installation and commissioning to help verify system performance and complete handoff activities.
Qualifications • Technical associate degree with two years of field experience, or four years of equivalent related field experience in the HVAC industry.
• Experience supporting project coordination, scheduling, or execution in HVAC controls or similar technical projects.
• Understanding of HVAC controls, installation workflows, commissioning activities, and customer-facing project support.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to a non-technical audience.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on details.
• Ability to work independently and support responsibilities with limited supervision.
Nice to Have • Strong personal computer skills.
• Knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems.
• Experience working with subcontractors, project billing, collections, and change orders.
• Exposure to hardware design, system programming, loading, device verification, or commissioning of HVAC controls systems.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $31hr-$356hr (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
