About this role
Job Description Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Off-Campus Life is a leadership position responsible for strategic planning, development, and implementation of programs and services for off-campus students. The role oversees the RamRide Program and collaborates with university and community partners to support student success. The position provides leadership for staff supervision, assessment, program oversight, and operational management of Off-Campus Life. The Assistant Director contributes to fostering a supportive environment while advancing departmental and divisional goals.

Description of Work Unit: Off-Campus Life (OCL) is dedicated to supporting students in having a successful transition and integration off campus and into the Fort Collins community. OCL offers a broad range of programs and services for Colorado State University students, faculty, staff, and the community in areas of education, outreach, and support that are designed to build life skills, promote dialogue, and foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming community.
Essential Job Duties: • Lead strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services for off-campus students. • Provide direct oversight, relationship management, and coordination of revenue-generating programs. • Direct and oversee daily operations of Off-Campus Life and the RamRide Program, including program delivery and service coordination. • Supervise, train, and evaluate professional staff, student staff, and graduate assistants, including hiring and performance management. • Manage program budgets and financial operations ($1M+) in accordance with university policies and reporting requirements. • Establish and maintain partnerships with University departments, City departments, and community stakeholders to support program goals. • Provide leadership in program assessment, outreach strategy, and communication efforts to address student and community needs. • Represent Off-Campus Life and provide leadership in the absence of the Director when needed. • Perform other related duties as assigned

Supervision: • Program Coordinator (1 FTE) • Marketing and Communications Specialist (1 FTE) • Indirect of: Approximately 20 student staff (~7.5 FTE) and 1 graduate assistant (0.5FTE)
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Education : • Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
Minimum Years of Experience and/or Skills : • Three years of full-time professional experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation related to community building or organizing. • Three years of professional experience in risk management and on-call or after-hours operational decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications: • Knowledge of theories and research in student development, social justice, and leadership development. • Experience analyzing and resolving conflict, team building, and group dynamics. • Demonstrated proficiency in written communication (reports, proposals, professional correspondence, presentation materials). • Demonstrated experience cultivating and maintaining collaborative working relationships. • Experience with fiscal, personnel, and risk management. • Experience with policies and working in a university setting and/or municipal government. • Direct supervision experience with full-time professionals, students, and graduate assistants. • Experience with volunteer recruitment.
