Queens College is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time (12 month) benefit position reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine in the Department of Athletics and Recreation. The successful candidate may attend national and conference meetings; and perform other duties assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine. Duties include, but are not limited to: general healthcare assistance to 230 intercollegiate student-athletes (injury evaluations, referrals, rehabilitative treatments); provide necessary practice and game coverage for all intercollegiate teams (including travel, late nights, early mornings, weekends, holidays and during inclement weather); assist in summer camp coverage; and assist with monitoring and maintenance of the athletic training room.

As the Athletic Trainer, the candidate will assist the Director of Sports Medicine with: • Providing necessary practice and game coverage for all intercollegiate teams
• Insurance tracking and documentation
• Scheduling doctor visits
• Assisting in the recruitment and scheduling of per diem staffers and sharing medical injuries and recovery plans with Head Coaches
• Position may require attending national and conference meetings; as well as performing other duties assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine
• Assist in Summer Camp Coverage
• Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements: • The individual must have the mobility to do the following activities: running, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching or crawling
• Candidates must have the ability to lift and/or move heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis with or without assistance
Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree (master's preferred)
• BOC certification
• New York State Licensure (prior to start of employment)
• Current Professional Rescuer CPR/AED/First Aid certification
• A valid driver's license
• Working knowledge of and adherence of NCAA rules and regulations
• Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff
• Ability to use relevant computer software
Pay Range: $55,000 - $70,000 RFCUNY Benefits RFCUNY Employee Benefits and Accruals
