Job Description The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor-in-Residence, Physical Therapy, School of Integrated Health Sciences [R0153099].
ROLE of the POSITION This is a full-time, 9-month position for Assistant/Associate Professor-in-Residence, which is a non-tenure track, teaching faculty line. Primary responsibilities include teaching in the entry-level DPT program, conducting research activities consistent with accreditation expectations, and mentoring student capstone projects. The primary teaching responsibility for this position is teaching contemporary neurological physical therapy. The successful clinical track candidate will be expected to meet University criteria related to teaching and service. The successful candidate will also be expected to adhere to UNLV Top Tier Initiatives related to teaching and mentoring. Anticipated start date would be January 2027 .
The Department of Physical Therapy at UNLV is housed within the School of Integrated Health Sciences along with the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences, Department of Occupational Therapy, and the Department of Health Physics and Diagnostic Sciences. The program is fully accredited through CAPTE and graduated its first class of DPT students in 2006. The overall NPTE pass rate is 100%. For more information, please visit us at: http://pt.unlv.edu .
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires: • A licensed physical therapist with eligibility for licensure by the Nevada State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• An earned terminal degree (PhD, DSc, or EdD) from a regionally accredited college or university, or a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree with board-certified clinical specialization. A DPT with other advanced training in a related field (e.g., MS in clinical investigation) will also be considered.
• 5 years of contemporary clinical experience in neurological physical therapy.
• Teaching experience in neurological physical therapy at the graduate level.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
• Ability to collaborate, solve problems, and be flexible.
• Demonstrated ability to learn, develop, and apply new technologies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience in mentoring student service-learning and research projects.
• Experience in curricular/program development and academic assessment.
