As a Cost Planning Manager within Silicon Manufacturing Operations (SMO), you will serve as the primary architect of cost optimization strategies for our silicon product lines. You will bridge the gap between engineering, supply chain, and finance, translating complex technical decisions into clear financial impacts. Your mission is to drive data-driven prioritization, secure executive alignment, and deliver sustained margin improvements across the product lifecycle. What You’ll Do • Cost Strategy & Roadmap Ownership: Define and maintain long-term cost roadmaps for new and ramping products. Act as the single point of accountability for cost projections from concept commit up to tape-out. • Cost Modeling & Sensitivity Analysis: Partner with the Cost Manager to maintain end-to-end cost models. Perform sensitivity analysis on yield, test strategies, binning, and packaging to quantify the impact of operational decisions. • Yield, Test & Manufacturing Optimization: Challenge yield assumptions and validate them against actual performance. Partner with Chip and Test Engineering to optimize test flows, binning strategies, and packaging approaches to reduce total cost of ownership. • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a strategic partner to Engineering, Global Supply Management (GSM), and Manufacturing Operations. Provide cost transparency and drive alignment across all stakeholder groups. • Cost Reduction Program Management: Identify, size, and prioritize cost reduction opportunities. Build compelling business cases and ROI models for Value Engineering (VE) investments, ensuring execution discipline. • Executive Decision Support: Translate complex engineering and manufacturing assumptions into executive-ready narratives. Provide fact-based recommendations to guide strategic investment and capacity decisions. • Financial Planning & Budgeting: Support annual budget cycles by providing accurate cost forecasts and validating key assumptions (yield, mix, supply, and test costs) to ensure alignment between operational plans and financial targets for new product released planned in upcoming fiscal year.
Minimum Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field • Experience: 7+ years of experience in silicon manufacturing, supply chain, or financial operations. • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, yield management, test engineering, and packaging technologies. • Analytical Rigor: Expert in cost modeling, sensitivity analysis, and building ROI-based business cases.
Preferred Qualifications • Education: MBA or advanced degree preferred. • Communication: Proven ability to synthesize complex technical data into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership. • Influence: Ability to secure cross-functional buy-in and lead through influence in a highly matrixed organization.
