Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent Architecture graduate to begin your professional career working alongside experienced architects, engineers, planners, and transportation professionals on some of the most significant infrastructure projects in New York and beyond.
You’ll contribute to the design of transit stations, maintenance facilities, operations buildings, and other public infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience while developing your architectural, technical, and project delivery skills. Responsibilities & Qualifications
What You'll Do • Support the planning, design, and documentation of rail, transit, and other public infrastructure projects.
• Assist with the development of architectural concepts, plans, elevations, sections, details, and presentation materials.
• Work with senior architects and multidisciplinary project teams to develop integrated design solutions.
• Contribute to projects through multiple phases of delivery, from early concepts and schematic design through construction documentation and construction administration.
• Develop and maintain architectural models and drawings using Revit and AutoCAD .
• Assist with coordination between architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.
• Research and apply applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, design standards, and client criteria under the guidance of experienced professionals.
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings, site visits, and coordination sessions.
• Prepare presentations, diagrams, renderings, and other materials to communicate design concepts.
• Support the preparation of technical documents, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Learn from experienced architects and engineers while developing your understanding of architectural practice, building systems, and transportation infrastructure.
• Bring fresh ideas and creative thinking to projects that have a meaningful impact on the communities they serve.
What You'll Bring • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited architecture program.
• 0–2 years of professional experience , including internships, co-op placements, or relevant academic project experience.
• A strong interest in architecture, public infrastructure, transportation, and the built environment .
• A portfolio demonstrating your design thinking, creativity, technical skills, and ability to communicate architectural ideas.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD .
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SketchUp, or other design and visualization software is an asset.
• An understanding of fundamental architectural principles, building systems, construction documentation, and design development.
• Strong visual, verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
• A willingness to learn new software, processes, and technical skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a genuine desire to grow as an architect.
• Interest in pursuing professional licensure and developing toward AIA/RA registration .
Experience That Would Be Beneficial
You do not need previous transportation experience to be successful in this role. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate: • Academic or internship experience involving transportation, civic, institutional, commercial, or other complex building projects .
• An interest in rail, transit, aviation, or other public infrastructure .
• Experience developing architectural models and drawings in Revit.
• Experience with visualization, rendering, parametric design, or digital fabrication.
• Coursework or project experience focused on sustainable, resilient, or accessible design.
• LEED knowledge or an interest in sustainable design.
• Internship or co-op experience within an architecture, engineering, construction, or multidisciplinary design environment.
