Summary of Job Duties: **This position will hire for either APRN or PA**

As an integral part of the UAMS Hospitalist Care Team, the APRN works collaboratively with the attending physicians and residents to ensure continuity of care to inpatient patients. The APRN help plan, implement, and evaluate health care treatments. Daily rounds, a variety of procedures, monitoring patient progress, and providing patient and family education, are part of the wide scope of practice. ` Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: APRN: • Master’s Degree in Nursing – Acue Care

• Three (3) years of nursing experience. 

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas

• APRN License

• 1 year of APRN experience in Acute Care

• National certification in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gero Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and Family Nurse Practitioner if an APRN

PA: • Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant

• 1 year of PA experience in Acute Care

• PA License

Preferred Qualifications:

APRN: • DNP

• 3 years of APRN experience in a Acute

• Previous experience in infectious diseases, internal medicine, primary care, hospital medicine, or related specialty preferred.

• Experience managing chronic infectious diseases

• Experience working in an academic medical center environment.

• Interest in antimicrobial stewardship, quality improvement, or clinical education.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

• Previous experience in obesity medicine, endocrinology, primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, bariatrics, or lifestyle medicine.

• Experience managing chronic metabolic diseases and anti-obesity pharmacotherapy.

PA: • 3 years of PA experience in Acute Care

• Previous experience in infectious diseases, internal medicine, primary care, hospital medicine, or related specialty preferred.

• Experience managing chronic infectious diseases

• Experience working in an academic medical center environment.

• Interest in antimicrobial stewardship, quality improvement, or clinical education.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

• Previous experience in obesity medicine, endocrinology, primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, bariatrics, or lifestyle medicine.

• Experience managing chronic metabolic diseases and anti-obesity pharmacotherapy.

Additional Information: Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Responsibilities: • Maintains required audits for credentialing.

• Engages in appropriate continuing education programs, maintains mandatory competencies, medical center computer-based learning modules, and health monitoring services.

• Participates in institutional initiatives and encourages the participation of others.
