Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced AIT Technician to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Director, Systems Integration & Test the AIT Technician will be responsible for hands-on assembly, checkout, and maintenance of electrical ground support equipment (EGSE), test racks, and related infrastructure supporting spacecraft production. This role also includes backfilling wire harness routing and fabrication work as needed. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of quality control, AS-9100 standards, and electromechanical integration best practices.

This role is on our Weekday shift (Monday - Thursday) from 6:00AM - 4:30PM.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow detailed procedures to assemble, integrate, and maintain EGSE systems and test rack equipment.

• Perform electrical checkout, verification, and functional testing of test racks and support equipment.

• Troubleshoot basic avionics, electrical issues, and EGSE system faults.

• Assist with wire harness backfill tasks including routing, termination, and installation.

• Operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, crimp tools, and light power tools.

• Ability to quickly change priority while working in a fast-paced environment.

• Communicate statuses, issues, and suggestions effectively to the support engineering team.

• Update documentation and hardware statuses through online services and configuration management tools.

• Support spacecraft integration activities that rely on EGSE interfaces and test rack functionality.

• Maintain compliance with cleanliness requirements, ESD precautions, and safe handling of electrical equipment.

• Must possess a strong work ethic, be able to work with limited supervision, and meet the requirements of the attendance policy.

• Must perform all functions of the job in a safe and professional manner.

• Must keep work area(s) in a neat, clean, safe, and orderly condition.

• Ability to stand for most of the working day.

• Perform miscellaneous lab duties including kitting, inventory, and organization tasks.

• Perform other tasks/responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or GED.

• 2+ years of professional experience working hands-on as a technician within electromechanical assembly, spacecraft hardware manufacturing, or test equipment integration.

• Experience working with EGSE, test racks, or similar electrical support systems strongly preferred.

• Experience with wire harness routing, fabrication, and/or spaceflight hardware integration.

• Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed work instructions, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.

• Proficiency with Windows 10, Microsoft Office products, and internet browser applications.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Knowledge of soldering tools and practices (J-STD-001 certification preferred but not required).

• Familiarity with electrical measurement tools such as multimeters, power supplies, and continuity testers.

• Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Familiarity with cleanroom cleanliness standards and ESD precautions.

• Must have excellent visual acuity to perform detailed inspections and quality control tasks.

• Ability to accurately distinguish a wide range of colors, essential for wire identification.

• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD Clearance.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Salary Range $28 — $37 USD
