The Opportunity: CACI seeks an AI Technologist for the United States Secret Service (USSS) contract supporting the Department of Homeland Security. This strategic role offers a unique opportunity to drive national security outcomes by pioneering responsible AI adoption within the USSS Office of the Chief Information Officer. As the AI Technologist, you'll serve as a catalyst for intelligent transformation and core technical expert supporting the stand-up of the USSS AI Team. You'll provide end-to-end AI expertise to accelerate solution development, evaluate AI technologies and use cases, contribute to the AI Strategy & 3-Year Roadmap, and create standardized guidance enabling safe, effective AI adoption at scale.

Working within the AI Program Management Office (AI-PMO), you'll provide subject matter expertise for initiative planning, execution, risk assessment, and portfolio management. You'll assess AI opportunities, lead proof-of-concept efforts, and ensure initiatives align with CIO priorities, mission needs, and enterprise governance. Your work will directly shape how USSS leverages AI to meet evolving protective, investigative, and operational demands while ensuring responsible, ethical, and compliant use. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with strategic vision and practical implementation skills to build the frameworks, playbooks, and governance structures enabling sustainable AI transformation for a program of national importance.

Responsibilities:  -Serve as core technical AI expert supporting stand-up and operationalization of the USSS AI Team with end-to-end technical leadership -Provide AI subject matter expertise to the AI-PMO for initiative planning, execution, risk assessment, technical evaluation, and portfolio management -Identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI technologies, platforms, and use cases that advance USSS CIO mission objectives -Contribute to AI Strategy & 3-Year Roadmap by assessing emerging technologies, identifying capability gaps, and recommending strategic investments -Lead development of AI Use Case Repository and evaluate use cases for technical feasibility, security, ethics, and mission alignment -Accelerate AI solution development through proof-of-concept development, prototyping, vendor evaluation, and solution architecture guidance -Collaborate with stakeholders across Cyber, Infrastructure, Mission Delivery, and field operations to assess opportunities and support responsible AI adoption -Develop AI Implementation Playbooks, templates, workflows, and decision frameworks for standardized AI evaluation, piloting, and deployment -Document best practices, lessons learned, and responsible AI guidance for the Transformation Playbook Library -Support AI Governance Charter development including technical governance processes, model lifecycle management, and responsible AI standards -Facilitate knowledge transfer and capability building for OCIO personnel on AI technologies and implementation approaches -Monitor AI landscape and provide thought leadership on emerging capabilities, industry trends, and federal AI policy developments

 Qualifications:  Please note: While this role is primarily remote, there is the possibility of regular onsite presence in Washington, D.C., dependent on customer needs. We encourage applications from candidates located within driving distance of the D.C. area.  

Required – • BA/BS + 15 years' experience in AI/ML technology implementation and strategy; equivalencies considered (21 years of experience with no degree, AA + 17 years' experience, MA + 12 years' experience)

• Ability to maintain a Public Trust clearance

• Demonstrated expertise in AI/ML technologies (NLP, computer vision, predictive analytics, generative AI, deep learning)

• Proven hands-on experience developing, deploying, and operationalizing AI/ML solutions in enterprise or government environments

• Strong experience developing AI use cases, conducting feasibility assessments, and building business cases

• Deep understanding of AI ethics, responsible AI principles, federal AI guidelines, and AI risk management

• Excellent communication skills translating technical concepts for executives, business stakeholders, and field personnel

Desired –     • Experience supporting federal government or DHS AI initiatives, AI program management, or AI center of excellence operations

• Familiarity with federal AI policies (OMB guidance, Executive Orders, NIST AI RMF, DoD Responsible AI Strategy)

• Professional AI/ML certifications (Google Cloud ML Engineer, AWS ML Specialty, Microsoft Azure AI Engineer)

• Experience with playbook/framework development for technology transformation and AI adoption

• Experience with AI/ML platforms and MLOps tooling (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, Azure ML, AWS SageMaker)

• Experience with AI governance, model validation, bias detection, and explainability techniques
