ABOUT THE ROLE

We're a small, fast-moving B2B SaaS company building AI-powered agents that resolve complex, technical customer support tickets for enterprise teams. Our product learns from historical support data, integrates deeply with existing workflows, and handles everything from autonomous ticket resolution to intelligent escalation with full context.

As an AI & Backend Engineer, you'll own end-to-end features across the full stack — shaping AI-powered capabilities and scaling the architectures that power our agents. You'll work closely with a tight-knit product and engineering team and have a direct impact on the direction of a product used by real B2B customers. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role at a company of fewer than 15 people.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Design and implement full-stack product features from idea to production.

- Build and enhance AI features — including LLM integrations, prompt engineering, and agent pipelines.

- Collaborate with the team to plan, scope, and launch new capabilities.

- Help make internal development workflows AI-native — leveraging AI coding tools to move faster and smarter.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-haves:

- 1–4 years of experience in backend or AI engineering (new graduates with strong project experience are welcome).

- Proven track record of shipping backend systems or AI features to production.

- Experience designing end-to-end architectures and building AI-powered data or model pipelines.

- Hands-on experience integrating with OpenAI models and prompt engineering.

- At least some experience working with or building AI agents.

- Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and/or Firestore (GCP).

- Personal hobby projects involving LLMs or other AI topics — we want to see genuine curiosity.

Strong differentiators:

- You're a heavy user of AI coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude Code, Cursor) and have concrete ideas — or demonstrated improvements — for optimising AI-assisted development workflows.

- Comfort working across the stack with Python (FastAPI), TypeScript/React (Next.js), Docker, and Kubernetes.

- Experience at a company building conversational AI, customer support tooling, or B2B SaaS products.

- AI/ML: OpenAI models (GPT-4o, o3, o4-mini, etc.)

- Databases: PostgreSQL, Firestore (GCP)

- Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, Microsoft Azure

LOCATION

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Munich, Germany. We work together in person — great for collaboration and moving fast as a small team. Visa sponsorship is available.
