Advanced Practice Provider - Endocrinology

Seattle Children’s is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our specialized Endocrinology team at 0.6 FTE . This is a primarily clinic-based role offering the opportunity to build and maintain a strong patient panel focused on pediatric endocrine and metabolic conditions, while participating in a collaborative, multidisciplinary care model that serves as a critical connection for families, primary care providers, and hospital partners across the Pacific Northwest.

Key Responsibilities • Outpatient Endocrine & Diabetes Care: Provide comprehensive, family-centered outpatient care to infants, children, teens, and young adults managing a broad range of endocrine and metabolic conditions—including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, growth disorders, pubertal timing (precocious or delayed puberty), thyroid conditions, adrenal disorders, and calcium/phosphorus imbalances.

• Subspecialty & Multidisciplinary Clinics: Participate in specialized programs and interdisciplinary clinics, such as our Insulin Resistance Clinic, Type 2 Diabetes Clinic, Lipid Disorders Program, Multidisciplinary Thyroid Program, Turner Syndrome Clinic, and Level 1 Center of Excellence Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH) Program.

• Medication, Device Management & Family Education: Oversee complex management regimens, including continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), insulin pump technology, hormone replacement therapies (growth hormone, thyroid, adrenal, and puberty management), and T1D prevention protocols. Provide clear, family-centered education on sick-day management, ketone protocols, and long-term wellness.

• Adolescent & Young Adult Transition: Support older teens and young adults in taking charge of their care as they navigate transition to adult endocrinology through our collaborative Adolescent and Young Adult Diabetes Transition Program with UW Medicine.

• Clinical Triage & Access: Serve in an AP-led triage role assessing urgent outpatient concerns (e.g., acute hyper/hypoglycemia, sick-day protocol adjustments, adrenal crisis management) to determine the appropriate level of care, from clinic modifications to urgent hospital escalation.

• Collaborative & Multidisciplinary Practice: Partner closely with pediatric endocrinologists, certified diabetes care and education specialists (CDCES), registered dietitians, athletic trainers, and clinical social workers to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.

Clinic schedule : 0.6 FTE, 3 day work week.

Location & Deployment This is a fully clinic-based position with telehealth opportunities. Primary based out of our Seattle (Sand Point Clinic) location; flexibility is key as coverage may occasionally be required at one of our surrounding regional clinics (such as Bellevue, Federal Way or Everett) to ensure seamless care across the region.

   Required Education and Experience: Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program. One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.

Required Credentials: For Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington. Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner For Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants For All Providers: Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals. Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support training and continuous maintenance of certification. Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.

Compensation Range: $137,321 - $201,961 per year This position is eligible for relocation for qualified candidates.

Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
